Hey everybody, I'm back at it again with another (terrible) idea!

Last time, I talked about changing AST cards, the time before that, I talked about changing how shields worked.

Well, here I am again, with another (probably terrible) idea! This time with regarding Scholar!

Change Adloquium and Succor into oGCDs that only apply a potency shield, akin to WHM's Divine Benison, and make them cost Aetherflow!

"But how will they heal, then?" With Lustrate and Indomitability, of course! Turn those babies into GCDs, making the former SCH's Cure II/Benefic II and Indomitability into their Medica/Helios, respectively!

Now Scholar is alllll about preventing damage as it's coming up, rather than reacting to the damage like WHM and AST are! Big damage coming up? Shield that shit and worry about it later, you got more Broiling to do!

And hey, now that you're using your Aetherflow more actively to prevent damage, Eos is getting all nice and fat with that gauge, so feel free to make use of her fairy actions more often!

Hell, why not make all of her actions cost some fairy gauge to encourage the usage of these oGCD shields? Instead of giving us that gauge way off at level 70!?

Also, get lost, Energy Drain! There's no reason for you to be here now that we can just throw an oGCD Adlo onto the tank to mitigate some of the damage they're taking. No more burning off stacks just to boost your DPS!

IMO switching shields to shield only and ogcd heals is not a bad idea in itself (it's been discussed here recently in a it thread i think)

-instant shields is way more usable.

con:
-You'd need a way better potency of shields than what sch currently has ; and then you open the door for cheeze in some content if it things stay the way they are (that was the main argument against it th the "shield only" thread I think)

-Some will say that you lost another chunk of what's left of the job identity (but at that point it would be a step backward in the right direction maybe ?)

It would also need a heavy rework of aetherflow (and the whole kit)
And just because it's got taken away twice ; keep Energy Drain as a way to generate additionnal aetherflow instead of using it.

As for the use of fairy power : sure, getting it at 70 is meh ; but to be any different you'd need to change the whole fairy kit too. if it's just "whelp, i used 10 in a minute" i don't really see the point.

Here an idea : an ability that boost your shields by "gauge" % :
-need a big shield : dump the gauge in it.
-have a really big heal to make : dump the gauge and emergency tactic.
-maybe have 2 btn ? full and half gauge dump ? that's more strategic, it's what the job is supposed to be about
-the "downside" is that you're less "reactive" than others healers (by 2s ?) to heal big
EDIT : i kinda made aetherpact useless ; so replace it with the full dump ability ?
