Speaking of glam destroying immersion, it's kinda funny for me because some of the original non glam armor actually DO destroy immersion if you think about how people wearing it in their day to day activities.

Like those Dragoon armor, for instance. Can you imagine people doing their daily activities wearing such spiky armor? When they want to sit? When they want to poop? heck you'd probably need to be careful when you want to shake hands with someone lest some of the blades on your armor pierces them, lol.

Me that all,no one important. I just say how I see it. The problem is for me and some more people. You may not see it as one or even love it the way it is. Perfectly fine.

I know that this is yet another jab at the belly gap ( which imo actually looks cooler ).
But if you want better examples look at Tanks with a ton of exposed skin regardless of wearing armor.
Like arms, no neck protection, big openings in the face, just cloth instead of actual armor etc ( especially Warriors ).
Pretty sure they have an Artifact set with exposed backs too.
    And they're actually meant to soak damage ( which DRG's aren't ).
It's not like if you added cloth to the belly gap that it'd suddenly be more protective even if a lot of people would like to pretend otherwise..

Exposed hands or even just fingers is especially a big no no because they were one of the first things that would get hit and people would go for particularly if unarmored.
Very easy to break them too and to disable the hand, even with things like smashing against shields etc.

I am also wondering how Dragoons see in their helmets lol.

I greatly dislike modern clothing in the game. I would love to see more things like the original armor's. Some of the town NPC clothing. but all this modern stuff doesn't belong in a fantasy setting. Even the 'modern' things in this game have far more a fantasy feel. The school outfits are esp a .... ? wtf? A mini skirt for Ishgard.. in a pious nation... *headdesk*

i mean, Ishgard is pious.. but its not OUR pious, its not a "real religion" so just because it would be "scandalous" in a real pious nation during what knows what time period would be contemporary for Eorzea, Dosnt mean it woudl be the same in ishgard

Also to people saiying "seeing someone in bikin in Coerthas is immersion breaking" it.. really isnt. Glamour is EXPLAINED in universe(and even used in the MSQ at least once on a large scale SPECIFICALY mentioning Glamour prisms) its not that you are "wearing" these clothings, its an ilusion ontop of your actual armor, you are still wearing your full plate armor as a paladin, it just looks like A bikini now(and it dosnt even change the feel of it afaik, so you would still feel wearing it) like, its an in universe explanation for why it exists, how it works, and what it does thats as immersive as you can get. I personaly dont like Casual glams, as it dosnt fit my character. HOWEVER i do not say people should not use it, nor would i want an option to disable glamour(because thats a great way to rob the game of a LOT of its charm and personality)
For people complaining about modern looking clothes.... i personaly dont see a problem in them. Final fantasy for a long while has a mix of fantasy and modern looking clothings in games. The modern clothes added arent so out there that a designer in eorzea or any other region could not have come up with them, and just never found a large market in the general public do to it being "to new" or unfamiliar looking, but adventurers(which we are) may be more inclined to try "wacky" clothes normal people would not spend income on.

The male version has scale mail there, which would be better defense against raking claws and other slashing attacks.

I mean, my main hangup with that gear is that I just think the belly window looks silly, but that's gonna vary from person to person.

People complaining about "immersion" in a game set in fantasy setting and not based on real life history. Amusing. Just let people enjoy wearing whatever they like (this is a major reason why people play video games - they want to escape from limitations of real life and from selfish people who think that something is "inappropriate" to wear for some reason) and if you don't like that - you can simply stop playing this game and do something else instead, like LARP, with specific rules that fit your preference.
