I understand the opinion posted. However, I don't agree with a turn-off system. That's defeating the purpose of the glamour system. There are players out there who wants to be seen in a gear that they prefer to be seen. In my case I mix gears depending on stats, the usual result doesn't look good. So I prefer to be seen in a specific set of gear. I do go for decent sets and I would not go naked or wearing just a subligar or wearing the scholastic uniform in let say the Heroes' Gauntlet for example. The thing is if you exclude only a specific range of gears it would alienate some players. It may resolve your immersion problems but it will definitely create a new one to other players who want to be seen in a specific set.

My wife and I actually love seeing wild/zany glamours... like full on "Stop cooking dinner and come look at this! This Roe in the 2b legs/Yotsu hair is MAGNIFICENT"

Players will always do immersion breaking things whether that's their glams, their emote use, or what they choose to say. You can't escape it. Welcome to sharing a space with other people. If you can't handle it then I suggest you stick to single player games.

All the outfits that can be shared on all classes are used for that imo : you don't waste inventory space if you stop playing a specific role, you can switch easly and the list goes on. It's not only having a good look it's also very practical to use.
Compare that to AF gear: switch your job and the glam is ruined (And then ppl tell you that AF gear shouldn't be shared because of immersion/lore while a anime schoolgirl is tanking at the distance). At the very least everything else is shared on the same role, but it will never be as flexible as all the glams that can be used on all jobs.
And most of the outfits that don't have any restrictions are modern or "silly looking" clothing.

Things will be immersion breaking in game yes but if the developpers choose to make the immersion breaking things better than the rest, it will just get worse for thoose who like a little bit of immersion (like i said before more things closer to the trailers).

You use blades infused with magic/ether.
And yes to me and some other the modern clothes are not fitting in. The rest are part if the world build here.

And at no point I say you don't need to do it. If you read my op you see what I think they need to do. Non of this limits you and don't need to.

Going by FF games main characters, there is literally nothing in this one that is immersion breaking.
In the past universe we've seen:
    - people look like they stepped out of a Resident Evil movie (lightening)
    - Star Wars jedi inspired armour
    - 1980s surfer dude (Tidus)
    - We ride flying cars and motorbikes
    - Cid is more industrial steam punk looking
    - David Bowie (forget his proper name) with his jet powered hammer and wrist watch from the future
    - We have bad guys in Gundam frames

I really don't think final fantasy holds to any particular theme, and it's a bit difficult to ask for immersion when it covers such a huge array of pop culture.

I don't really feel this outfits are "immersion" breaking. We are talking about a game where we travel to other dimentions. Where we have a giant robot castle manipulate time. Where a Robot from another planet forces us to fight in a tournament against Villains of Fairy Tales, and where Final Fantasy Characters from other dimensions visit us regularly during Events so we can buy a Car in the Gold Saucer...

Well no.... I don't think modern clothes are really immersion Breaking in this game.
