the immersion problem made by glams

so i know its not a new topic and all but it need to be talk of much more.
the all the time incising amount of modern looking glams killing any immersion in the game. now yes there was modern looking gear/glam in the past as ell, but all of it got a fantasy touch. but in 5.x we got just normal modern looking glams that got no fantasy element to them.
now there 2 ways to "fix this problem"
1. make it so people can turn off glams from other players.
2. add more npc's to the world that wear this glams/gear.
what you think of this, you see it as a problem or don't care. how you will fix it , take them out is not a good fix as there people that do like them.

I dont see glams as immersion breaking at all personally.

I guess I dont see much "immersion" coming from a game on my screen, that I have to press keys to move my character or chat
what people wear doesnt affect me except gives me something to giggle about if their idea of "fashion" is much different than mine.

thats truly about it.

until they bring in virtual reality and teh suits from "ready player one" immersion is not really a thing in my mind.

idk but the amount of maid glamours has led me to believe that the maid market in Eorzea is oversaturated.

I hate modern clothing in an otherwise mostly fantasy setting too and it bugged me too at first, but I guess I just got used to it. It's no worse at this point than a tank in a bikini or anyone playing a lala, or worse, a lala in a bikini. I just hope in the next mmo they pick a theme and then try to at least stay somewhat near the lines

We've had modern/real world outfits being added for years, not just in 5.x so I don't see how this is a new problem warranting this dead horse to be beaten again.

I personally have no problem with a client-side toggle to put others into "default" gear (what counts as a default outfit left to dev discretion) since this game's sibling FFXI has an option for that. But each and every single time this idea is brought up by someone, usually to cause trouble, the majority of folks say they don't want it for one reason or another.

Also there are already NPCs that wear these supposedly immersion-breaking outfits already, sometimes not the whole outfit but bits and pieces to make a unique look. Overall this isn't a problem but I don't care too much one way or the other but I really hope this topic doesn't go off the rails like I've seen it do twice already.

Or maybe I do, might be entertaining.

Have you guys not played the other final fantasy games? There are a ton of characters that wear "normal clothes". There is nothing immersion breaking for the FF franchise that I have seen so far.

no one say the problem is new its a problem that progressing the longer we go. in 5.x they add way more modern looking glams/gear that all.
as for npc's . can you name some as i missed them

did you? there ff games that are fantasy and some that are a mix of fantasy and ci-fi. ff7/8/13/15 (10 can some what fit as well) are in a modern setting and its ok there. but you don't see it in the full fantasy ones.
