New Player Lore Questions

Edit: Seems this is a Necro Post... one I had responded to a long time ago. But my response is good for someone who is just starting up and has the same questions. So I'm not going to delete, as the OP has clearly finished the MSQ by now, and is like the rest of us waiting for Friday. (provided they pre-ordered Endwalker)

Hello,

Who is the old guy in the opening cinematic who teleport everyone before he dies? He fought that huge dragon.

What was the aftermath of that? Where is that dragon now?

And was that guy in Uldah with the tattoo on his face and the white hair, was he there when this fight happened?

The enemy Ifrit said that he cannot possess me because I am already possessed by another - who is currently possessing me? And why?

Also, I believe Gladiotor turns into Paladin - is that the only option? Isn't a Paladin like a healer warrior? Is there a lore reason gladiotor has to become Paladin?

1: Old Guy - Louisoix Leveilleur - Grand father of the Twins.
2: Dragon/aftermath - Do the raid series "Coils of Bahamut" all those questions are answered.
3: Guy tattoo on face? Name? as there are a few. Or are you talking Thancred? Hot guy white hair, Daggers, two neck tattoos? Can't say, he's too important to the story to not pay attention to. Spoiler:

Plus he's the always getting hotter dude in FFXIV.

4: Who Tempered You? Still not answered, there has been a lot of hints and theories, and I suspect we will know fully by the end of endwalker.
5: Gladiator becomes Paladin once you hit 30, get past a specific point in the MSQ, and finish the Gladiator Story quest. And take up the Paladin Story quest.
