I don't really know how Bethesda deal with their mods, but IF the devs decides to allow mods officially, perhaps it could take an example of two from Bethesda (not about paid mods though).

Yeah, no. You don't own the game just cause you pay the sub. You don't own a single pixel/polygon. You don't own the code.

So back to my example, sure it's maybe not the "real" mona lisa in this case. But they hand you out a copy to look at it, you still don't own that copy but then you smear all over it with crayons.

You own neither the original nor the copy, the only thing you own is the temporary access. If you think as soon as you download stuff you own something you are really...dunno...i guess all the music labels would like to have a word with you in that case.
