Only of my concerned and worried is that our server (Excalibur) not even have supply at rank 2 in the first season.
Now a lot of people already lose interest, I doubt that we will ever get rank-2 supply later on. I think SE demand point too high.

I don't have enough gathering experience, but I thought that fatigue was out of the game. Why do people still say there is? and if it is there, what is its effect?
If you don't mind, can you tell me if the mats required for the supply and battle phases are tradeable? And what kind of items are gathered/crafted during battle?
And how would you know your current standing?
Sorry for all the questions ^^;

Gathering fatigue still exists, I hit it twice over the course of the first hamlet [I worked a bit of it off with crafting].

I think the score shouldn't be based on top 20 but just the amount of points you scored in the supply phase. so if you don't have time you at least get some benefit.
and no its not out of the game. once you hit it you start not being able to gather items.
Thanks for the reply. Are you saying that you will not be able to log/mine any item at all? or just get useless items?

I have never hit any gathering fatigue, but it wouldn't suprise me if SE had it as a way to prevent 24/7 rmt bots gathering to sell the gil they make, they had a fishing fatigue system in FFXI because of the mass of fishing bots around, it annoyed legit players, but it did slow down fish bots.

I agree with OP...

I'm willing to give SE the benefit of the doubt for now, there is a good chance the loot system isn't completely fleshed out and working properly.
We can only hope that in the next patch the score will directly reflect the colour of the chest that spawns and that will in turn increase the likely hood of loot dropping.

I don't see much of a problem with how the turn in system works, honestly.
Hardcore gatherers and crafters can consistently get in the top 20, more casual DoL/DoH can stockpile items for days / weeks and then turn em all in whenever they have enough time to do so to get in the top 20 every once in a while. The actual hamlet fight is also pretty fun, even tho I got constantly raped when I tried it this weekend, it was still fun as hell.
As for the rewards, I do think it - might - get a little better once they increase hamlet level, but for now....we're screwed.
