Addon (re)question

How hard would it be to make a addon that highlights items in your bag, matching those stacks that your retainer already has, while having a retainer inventory open at the bell?

This would save so much time.
Just double right click anything in your bag to move it to the retainer.
Every bag and inventory is 99% full in this scenario.

The point of this addon would be to kill the need to search every item you carry, to see which of your retainer has some of the same items.
Sadly this seems to be the only way to stack items right now.
Open up retainer > search for item > does he have some or not? > give him what you have on top to free space > repeat. Extremely user undfriendly.

Who designed this?
I mean it's 2021, we got robots on mars, and you can't make a automatic "move all items to retainer (of already existing similar stacks)" function?
Not even a highlight frame for our inventory side, showing us "the retainer you are interacting with now has the same item stack" allowing us to just double rightclick and free up some of our bag space? No?
Is this a joke?

Why am I the only one asking these reasonable questions?
Why isn't SE doing anything about this?
This and similar issues, plus maaaaany many more requests have been made long ago, I can google up to 6-9 year old posts, and nothing has been done.

What are you doing with all your dev resources?
Like what is so much more important than getting the core gameplay functionality up to normal reasonable standards?
What is going on.....

And please don't even bother with "if you don't like it leave/ why are you playing the game then" trolling deflections.
Just answer my question or don't reply at all.

Like if I had any say on this matter, it would have been fixed instantly within a month. At this point I have no other option but to put it on the fact that they don't care.
"Game is what it is, deal with it", milking the subs for dancing glamgirls, completely ignoring fundamental gameplay functionality issues for 10 years..... which could have been easily fixed by now. But no. Won't do it.
I don't understand at all.... this is absolutely unacceptable, but hey what can anyone of us do? They do what they want.

You can already do this.
There are two user settings that can prevent it from working.

A) Your inventory window is close to the edge of the screen, which causes the submenu to nudge away from the edge so that it doesn't go off the edge, and the Entrust to Retainer option will not be directly under your cursor.
B) Your submenu has Entrust to Retainer in a lower priority so that it is no longer the topmost option when interacting with your retainer.

You can fix A by moving your inventory window away from the edge of the screen. Fix B by customizing your submenu so that Entrust to Retainer is the highest priority option out of the options that are available when interacting with a retainer. Any options that are available when interacting with the retainer inventory should be below Entrust to Retainer.

I don't know how my post could have been missunderstood this bad...
I have no issues double right clicking items, it's always on "give all to retainer" first.
The problem is not knowing which stacks he already has.



This is what I meant: getting a clue on stacks that I carry, which also are on the retainer, so I can without wasting space or time give him my stuff on top of his.

I want to see and know instantly what I can dump on my retainers to make space, as fast as possible, with the highlight match maker shown in my suggestion here.

I mean, my first reply addressed literally exactly what you said in the part I quoted.

The problem is not knowing which stacks he already has.

Each item has a category. Assign each category to a specific retainer. Group categories in some way that makes sense to you. For example, I find the following groupings to work well:

• metal, stone, lumber
• cloth, leather, bone
• food, ingredient, reagent, fish
• materia, demimateria, catalyst, dye

Then it'll be easier to remember what's on each retainer.
