I've updated my previous post as I might have found a 'tentative' fix for the issue. I have gotten a crash after doing the above process, but it was once after hours and hours of running about and putting it under heavy load, and then haven't crashed again since. If you're desperate for a fix, there are at least a few things above I've heard work for this issue, Many of them did not work for me, but hopefully they will for you.
