Good point.
I would be SO behind this.
Especially if they did neo-Heisei and earlier and not just focus on whatever show is current when they do the collab.
The thing with PSO2 is that Sega has the rights to Hatsune Miku's appearance in video games.
That said, I'd be down with her appearing in some capacity in FFXIV.
If we are talking crossovers, I would like to see more fun mini games tied to other SE properties.
Essentially Dragon Quest, Secret of Mana or other Final Fantasy titles.
As an example, in Guildwars 2, there is a thing called The Super Adventure Box, which is a riff on nostalgic games of like..the 80/90s. Basically low rez action adventure game completely separate from the main game. In game lore , it’s basically a Nintendo. (The NPC inventor’s name is Moto, and he hopes to impress his crush, Miya as an example of the ridiculous level of references).
For FFXIV, it would be nice to see some of their multiplayer arcade-esque games I could play with in game friends using these properties. Even a Crystal Chronicals rouge-like with the miasma could be fun.
The problem with most of my idea is it’d basically just be better to make a new, separate game.
It’s possible with Allagan technology.
Ya'll aren't getting anything back from SEGA, just gonna be honest. Even if SEGA wanted to, I don't think Yoshi would green light it.
1. PSO aesthetic does not fit in with the world of FF14. PSO2/NGS is literally a game to express your creativity (and lewdness) to the fullest so they don't really have any restrictions on what themes or aesthetics they add into it for character creator, weapons,, etc. For example: I have a rod weapon camo that is a neon vacuum cleaner. In terms of character creation, you're capable of inflating your boobas to comical proportions and use different items to create new outfits (there's someone who's taken random accessories and created an Among Us character). That's why there's thousands of items available in base PSO2 from different animes, movies and just the staff's own creativity. They don't want people to look the same at all and you'll be hard pressed to find someone that does look similar to another person.
FF14 will be looking to keep to the usual "SE look" with their collabs and probably will want to steer clear of any of the lewd/provocative clothing that 90% of the NPC characters wear.
2. SEGA is neck deep in trying to get PSO2:NGS up and running and are focusing heavily on pushing out gacha items and running in-house collabs (Sonic collab is going on right now).
3. Yokai is an event simply because of the relationship between Yoshi and whoever is in charge of Yokai. It's been said before.

Look i’m not even for this collab, but this is kind of a dumb argument. We literally got nier, a series full of scantily clad women, some even being portrayed as nude. In game we literally got the 2b set which has everyone’s asscheeks out. Not to mention the raid boss that’s literally a bunch of naked mannequins jumping onto each other. Nier doesn’t fit with 14, it’s literally agreed to be the worst collab and raid series to date. It was a joke, and was obviously only put in for fanservice and yoshi p’s relationship with yoko taro.1. PSO aesthetic does not fit in with the world of FF14. You know what would make a better crossover/collab alliance raid series in my opinion? Xenogears.
