Either shrink those enemy hitboxes down to a level where it actually looks you're hitting them with your weapon of choice, or stop taxing "Being far away from the boss."

Some fights like Brionac (Castrum Lacus Litore) only has a tiny fraction of arena out of melee range. And he's also Omni-directional, making "Being able to stay away from the boss" or "Not having to deal with positionals" not much of an advantage. Lots of other examples like Leviathan from Eden or Engels from Copied Factory.

And that is saying nothing about how many mechanics happen at the border of the bosses's hitbox. Some of them are designed by the player, like trying to keep Melee Uptime when Fatebreaker throws a blue Turn of the Heavens, but some of them just make you go into Melee even if you didn't want to, like Storm Without from the Zadnor CE.

So shrink those down or stop pretending that "Having to be in Melee" or even "Dealing with Positional Strikes" is such a big thing that you either have to play like a Turret or having to play like a Support DPS to balance it out. Not both, you can't both have a game with so many Melee Friendly mechanic AND nerf the Ranged damage into either being super hard to do or just giving it away to people. And honestly I would rather those hitboxes shrunk.
