    Earning Seals -- Suggestions Please

    Hello,

I am a proud member of the Immortal Flames, and in order to be able to show my devotion I need to bribe them with vast amount of seals. Also I want to buy lots of pretty things from their shops.

I am trying to earn the seals, but have not found any method that really suits me (personally) that I can be comfortable doing over and over, whilst seeing a significant gain. So I decided to compile a list of ways to get seals, and see if I missed anything.

    -- Toto-Rak --
One can earn seals by running around here like crazy. I think you could probably do 3 runs an hour and earn up to 1000 seals each time. Giving you 3000 seals/hour.

    However, I get lost all the time, annoyed, frustrated, and just idle at the entrance and allow someone else to get seals while I chat with friends ^.^;. This nets me a very few seals / day ^.^;;

Pros: Only two people needed to go in, and relatively easy fights.
Cons: If you get lost easily this is not for you.

    -- Dzemael Darkhold --
A group of hardy adventurers can go in, clear up a bunch of chests, beat up an ogre and batty, and get some more chests. If done well, can be done 2x per hour. If lucky, everyone will get on average one drop. So approximately 2000 seals/hour.

Pros: Can be done with 4-8 people, but of course harder with 4 and easier with 8.
Cons: If unlucky you could spend a couple hours here and only get 1500 seals.

    -- Chocobo Caravan --
You can get together with some friends and escort those cute chocobos to their destination. I think one run every 30 minutes, giving you about 500 seals per hour.

Pros: Easy to do, simple, not terribly boring the frist 10 times.
Cons: Usually need 6-8 people, and still only 500 seals/hour

    -- Grand Company Leves --
Find one of those nodes where a Grand Company man is idling and handing out levequests. If you are lucky you will get one that can be done in 15 minutes. On average, you could do up to 4 per hour, netting you about 250 seals/hour.

Pros: Easy to do. Completley solo. Don't even need to be awake.
Cons: After the 5th straight hour you will sacrifice yourself to a level 99 mob in Mor Dhona just to relieve the boredom.

    -- NM Hunting --
You can get up to 250 seals for turning in a drop from an NM. The NMs pop with high frequency so should in theory be able to get one every hour. Therefore, about 250 seals/hour.

Pros: Easy to do solo, can do it while idlish.
Cons: After each drop have to go to a different NM or turn it in and return. Does not make going for more than one at time easy.

    -- Provision/Supply --
You can turn in items to the provision offficer in exchange for seals. Some items give 3 seals, others give up to 80? or so. However, the cost of items on the wards often increase in comparrision to the seals you would get. An analysis of gil/seal for the present and next week show an average of 700 gil/seal. 1 Million Gil will get you about 1500 seals.

Pros: Super easy to do, don't even have to leave the Grand Company Halls.
Cons: Very expensive. Even if you gather/make the items yourself, the 'loss' from not selling it on the wards versus handing it in needs to be accounted for.

    -- Quests --
Not including quests, as they are one time-only (unless someone knows a repeatable quest).

Anything I am missing? Any other suggestions/hints/ideas?

    Thank you.

A couple things I wanted to add to your list. The best way to do seals off of NM drops is to find one that drops 2x 250 seal items. Like kokoroon for example. make sure your hp is set near your company. Kill the NM until you get both items, sometimes you will be unlucky and get the same item twice in a row, before receiving the second item. thats np just return with the duplicate in your loot list and turn in the item in your inventory then retrieve the duplicate from your loot list within 3min so you dont lose the dupe. half the time you will get lucky and get two unique items and just keep killing until you get a third which will be a dupe. sorry if that doesnt make sense im tired =b

was also doing toto rak today with a friend. the best way is for a full run getting every photo(the green things). have one person run through getting aggro on everything while the second picks up the photo thingys. pulling up a map online would help. we didnt fight anything but the boss. there are bronze chests on a full route that can drop items as well. most of the time we got 4 chests and a full run took 12min every time. we did manage to get 1 run with 5 chests, couldnt figure out how we got the left chest to pop that one time, even with 4 chests we were getting about 5-6k seals an hour. this is the fastest way I know of to get seals, although its a headache to learn the route.

I have also heard hamlet defense gives seals, I havent tried it yet so it could poss trump all other avenues.

I have to crrect you here, due to the fact that I am a pro caravan runner. If you know how, you can get 300 seals per escort 100% of the time. Furthermore, caravan escort can be easily completed every 15 mins. You can get 1200 seals an hour consistently doing this, but you need a solid group. 4 players can suffice but you need to be blm/thm heavy and quick to blizarra adds before they attack chocobos. With 8 ppl this is a breeze.

As mentioned by knockout the best way to get seals from NM is to set HP near one that drops two items. Kill til you get both, then kill some more til you get a third in your loot list. Return to your inn, turn in all three, and teleport back to the NM. This will cost you anima but you can replenish via hamlet provisions.

You should be able to net 1500 an hour if you get three greens per half hour. Potentially more or less d epending on your drop rate. Luck is really the determining factor on this one.

As for supply and provisioning missions this depends entirely on the items of your week. Some will cost less and others more but this is a lucrative business. I highly recommend gathering items. I have gathered over 60 stacks of provisioning items and gotten between 2-10 seals per item over the past month while leveling my miner and botanist from 35 to 50.

    Hello,

Thank you much for your feedback. A few points:

    1) Do you have your Caravan strategy posted somewhere? Would be helpful!

    2) I found that as soon as I enter Ul'dah with items in my loot list they right away drop to inventory (and if its a duplicate unique is immediately discarded). Is this just me? Do I need to enter the city a different way? (Tried both walking and teleporting).

    3) I was thinking of saving up all my items to turn in. But even if I harvest them myself, the 'loss' from turning in versus selling is still significant (and can still add up to about 700 gil/seal).

If you're capable of damaging the equipment, then damage the NM gear and slap it in your bazaar as a repair request for 1g. That's what I do in order to hold two u/u pieces while I'm out and about.

As for whether or not to turn in the supply/provision items or sell them, well, that's entirely dependent on how bad you want the seals and your server's economy.

    Set HP in Grid.

Kill Phaia, turn in items, rinse and repeat.

Fixed. One NM will keep you waiting on repop timers from time to time, and Sirocco is not far (and easier to kill).

Aren't some NM items worth a little more than 250?

Also caravans can net you some exp as well, on w/e class you want as long as you change fast enough near the end. And if you're doing them right, you will get the speed run achievements. They are really boring though =(

I usually only pick up the GC leves where you have to uncover and kill the certain mobs. I can generally clear them in 7-8 mins, so when you keep getting multiple of those in a row you can rack up pretty good.

The items for Seals dropped from nms are usually around the 200-350 Range.
Anything higher than that is usually from Dzemael Darkhold; Which yields a range 600-1500 seals.
