Please update ghostwolves/wolf/dog death sound

That whimper/squeal upon death is.. a little too realistic. Especially because, and I'm aware they're the same genus, wolves and dogs sound very similar, it kinda triggers a bad feeling. A different sound file would be good, or even just one that isn't so SAD. Like a growl. Perhaps.. make them growl when they die. Die like an angry beast to the end, but when i hear those whimpers, doesn't matter if it just attacked me- I feel like I'm at fault for engaging it in combat and not running away. Just makes the whole hero fantasy feel like "yeah im a hero but i also kill dogs so"

I'm fully expecting to get made fun of for being soft or whatever, but I'm curious if anyone else had a similar reaction and just for the sake of making the game a more pleasant place if we could get this updated that'd be nice.

No making fun for being soft! It makes me sad too xD Even in monster hunter I really struggle when the monster starts limping and running away I feel like the monster, esp when the stupid villager is sending me out for the dumbest reason that totally does not justify murder of this poor creature q.q MH Stories is much less evil feeling.. tho still 50/50

The Warrior of Light isn't a pure and righteous figure. Many beasts and animals are cut down simply for the sake of being an inconvenience/being in the way. Or for their meat/hides/fangs to sustain vanity projects rather than essential services.

I think the current sound works well with that in mind.

I don't personally mind the death sounds, even having been right there holding many pets that have died in my arms. /tears

I'd never make fun of someone for being sensitive or emotional. The idea that being emotionless or "hard" or macho is better than being emotional or "soft" is archaic and stupid. We are humans and we have human emotions. Some things will make us sad, some will upset us, etc. This is part and parcel of being a human on Earth. Absolutely no one should be belittled for that.

I get it. I try to avoid killing baby animals and their mothers in games, I feel like such a monster when I do. I like Theodric's point tho.

I guess it is possible since they changed the Sage's original icon for people with trypophobia. Maybe if the thread gets more attention they'll consider it.

I hate those sounds as well.. there is a cat one i use to hate in another game i played.. having to kill basic forest creatures just because “insert flimsy reasons here”.. I signed up for fighting off ultimate baddies not basic animals of the land.. if the job is food based or a need I don’t feel too bad, So i get it lol. I guess i just try not to think about it too much.. there is a reason the mmo hero is also known as a murder hobo. Were here to do the bidding of others and that includes killing and unfortunately that sometimes means some degenerate wants pelts for a new hat and we have to kill them and hear their death cries.. :/
