    I have the bigger issue with lockout timer. That 15 min lockout after a win is terrible. I'm playing this game to have fun, but I get locked out of my fun for 15 min after every win. I want to play my game, not wait for a lockout timer.

    The fight itself takes about 15 minutes. So basically I'm sitting on my arse for 50% of the time when I want to run multiple hamlet defenses. That is bull crap.

    FF14 is getting a little to happy with lockout timers on everything. Stop restricting our ability to play.

    ok so lets go with the flow

    1 minute lockout

    and lets lower the drop rates from 1% to .01%


    cuz thats what your asking for now, thats how this works


    shorter lockout = lower drop rate

    I read a book and watch TV between playing my game due to lockout.

    I need another hobby to play my hobby because my hobby locks me out.

    nothing says you cant go kill other stuff or do something different in game in between....

    the loickout isnt stopping you from playing, your mindset is

    I shouldn't have to go do something else to explore content. If I want to run multiple hamlets, I should be able to. I shouldn't be force to take a break or kill other monster nearby to pass the time.

    I shouldn't have to go find other content to fill my time until the magic timer says I can play the content I want to play.
    This is a game. I shouldn't have to find other pass times.

    you already gotta wait 50 more hours to go back in
    whats 15 minutes in between runs?

    that gives people bathroom breaks,m smoke breaks, snack breaks, food breaks

    also, again, its YOUR choice not to take advantage of other options, the game is not stopping you, you are


    granted, would you be willing to have an even lower drop rate as a compromise for no cooldown? im curious, cuz thats the reason our drop rates are so low now you know

    You do realise that most mmos have 24 hour lock out on the raid and dungeon content.

    Even WoW which is a casual MMO has 24 hour lock outs.

    15 mins is nothing.

    It should be that if you successfully kill Garuda you get locked out for 24 hours and then decide to do something else, do Ifrit, Moogle, CC or AV there is plenty of options now.

    Hamlet is a bit different obviously because of the 25 hour battle phase, although this will change when they add more hamlets.

    They could code it that every time you don't win it increases your chances the next time, it wouldn't be hard to do and think its some thing similar to what Viion suggested with the Karma system.

    If there was no reward attached to it, I would agree with you. Seeing that there are rewards involved, there has to be some sort of restriction. I'd introduce a point system and make hamlet defenses something you can do once a day. That way you can do your thing, then move and do other things in-game rather than being sequestered for 15 minutes waiting for the timer.

    Seems the devs still need to learn the finer points of pacing and gating mechanisms.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
