    In Endwalker what new job abilities do you want to see?

    Honestly curious what abilities people would love to see in the game that could be added for each job at level 90.

    Not necessarily looking for what you think SE will add, but what you personally would love to see even if it's not something you're too confident in ever being in the game.

    Completely out there and silly ideas are also welcome!

    Some things I'd personally love to see (split up between multiple posts because unfortunately I definitely broke the 3k character limit:

    Dark Knight:

    I want more interaction between the Blood Gauge and Dark Arts. If Blackest Night procs Dark Arts and you have a full Blood Gauge I'd love to see some really powerful abilities to play around with. Extending the shield of Blackest Night to the entire party in exchange for a full blood gauge would be particularly cool. And I like being able to help healers~

    Would also love to see an upgrade of some sort to Living Shadow. Being a really cool looking DoT is fine but I'd love if maybe when you summoned Living Shadow your entire rotation shifted to a different one/more powerful one. Given the nature of the Dark Knight questline it seems our inner self would maybe want us to work together more closely and expanding our moveset in a way that didn't require us to have more buttons on our hotbar (because they all change to the new ones) would be the best way to handle that imo.

    Paladin:

    Let Paladins apply Hollowed Ground to a different party member.

    Give Paladins an in combat raise. Or a pre-emptive re-raise (think similar to Hollowed Ground or maybe more appropriately Living Dead that can be cast on a team member or yourself 10 seconds or so before you die and is useless if the player doesn't die. But will raise if they do.)

    Gunbreaker:

    Honestly Gunbreaker is feeling really good right now. The only thing I think I'd want is an expanded cartridge even if it's just during a temporary burst window.

    Warrior:

    Combine Fell Cleave and Decimate into one attack. Basically at say level 90, every time you do a Fell Cleave you are also doing an AOE Decimate attack in addition to the normal Fell Cleave damage on a single target.

    Alternatively have an ability that allows a Fell Cleave proc to happen after any damaging ability you do.

    Ninja:

    I want some sort of ninjutsu that combos off of the failed bunny ninjutsu....

    Give Doton a draw in ability (think Blue Mage's Hydro Pull ability) so that Tanks know that mobs should go on there

    Allow combinations to happen with ninjutsu and Bunshin so that you can have some shadow clones pull off some of your abilities or even double them up. (Multiple casts of Raiton all at once or something~)

    Dragoon:

    Shiva cultists became dragons.

    Estinien became a dragon.

    We're drawing on the powers of dragons.

    Let me be a dragon (temporarily)

    Completely change up my hotbar to accommodate my new dragon form. Moves can just be stronger versions of the old one and just last for as long as you have Life of the Dragon up.

    Oh also, please make Corthean Torment or Sonic Thrust extend the timer of Disembowel's damage buff.

    Monk:

    With monk I honestly just want one massive combined combo that lets me press basically every weaponskill in a certain order to unleash a stronger and stronger potency combo. Honestly would love to see something like how Dancer's dance moves work but with all of our weaponskills and with a much longer set of moves.

    Samurai:

    Samurai is a job that feels like it doesn't need more buttons. As such I'd love to just see some stronger versions of our existing stuff. Something really flashy visually is honestly all I want. A stronger and even flashier version of Midare Setsugekka would be enough for me.

    Dancer:

    The only thing I want from Dancer is a dance that looks different visually and does something other than a damage buff. I'd much rather Improvisation have been a dance that we actually had to press buttons for instead of just a dance where we didn't move.

    Additional dance steps might also be nice to see just to add some complication (although I have to say part of the appeal of Dancer as a class for me is because I can just turn off my brain while playing it haha)

    Bard:

    AoE marker attack that you place on the ground and splits damage according to how many targets are in the marker. So like say its a 1k potency attack. If there's one enemy it does 1k to them. But if there are 4 enemies it'll do 250 to each enemy instead.

    Machinist:

    Let us pilot the mech ;-; The G-Warrior is just sitting around doing nothing, give it to the Machinist!

    White Mage:

    Give me a drain spell that hurts our own party in exchange for boosting the power of the blood lily >.> I know SE would never actually do this but I can't say I don't want it.

    One could argue that forgoing a healing spell and just doing an additional glare is more or less the same thing, so there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to siphon the life of the party to feed the lily imo >.>

    Scholar:

    Idc about new scholar abilities, let me have Feo Ul as my partner. Give us a big Titania summon that feels as cool as the phoenix or bahamut summoner summons.

    Astrologian:

    Astrologian is apparently going full heals and no shields so I think the entire class is going to get a bit of a rework. That said in general I'd just love to see more card uses. I know Astrologian used to be more rng and card heavy than it is now but I guess I don't want more rng so much as I hope we get a lot of interesting healing options. I wanna have the cosmic card version of summoning exodia but playing my hand right.

    Black Mage:

    I know that everyone probably wants Black Mage to get Ultima, and I'd love to see that too, but honestly first I'd love to see Black Mage get Meteor.

    Instead of a long cast time I think it would be cool if Meteor was an instant cast but then it took awhile to fall. So you'd kind of have to predict where the boss or the enemies were going to be. You could even cast it early in time to hit boss adds as they spawn. Or shoot it off at the beginning of a trash pull and hope that the tank keeps the enemies steady as it comes down.

    Bonus points if it acts as damage reduction for boss mechanics if you stand next to it~

    Red Mage:

    I'd love to see Red Mage get some more weird utility spells.

    Paladin's old flash spell that blinded nearby targets would be something I'd love to see RDM get.

    Doublecast certain magic, or better yet, as a utility spell give the ability to double cast temporarily to either healers or other casters in the party.

    Summoner:

    I'll say I've never been a huge fan of the egi's. Bahamut and Phoenix were definitely a big step up, but a lot of summoner's buttons are pretty clunky.

    I press a button to allow me to press another button which lets me summon Bahamut who then presses a different button to do their attack and... I'd love to see the entire class get a rework and become more streamlined.

    Why not have us become strong enough to do our own controlled summoning's. Ysayle used her own body to make herself an avatar for Shiva's power... why can't we do the same?

    Let me use Titan's fists to smash down on my enemies. Let me spew fire life Ifrit. Let me use Garuda's talons and gusts directly. I want to embody the primals, even if only temporarily.

    Of course with the stronger summons outright becoming an avatar would be really cool and be more akin to the things I'd love to see for Dark Knight and Dragoon as well.

    I think we could definitely do a lot of cool things with Summoner, and I'd love to see more ideas from the community on what you'd all like to see as well.

    I understand most of these probably aren't likely, but I think hoping for stronger abilities that don't add buttons but instead replace old skills makes a lot of sense. And in some cases completely reworking and streamlining some abilities seems like the way to go.

    Anyways, let me know what you'd like to see even if it's not practical at all! Would love to hear ideas~

    I'm less excited by new buttons to push and more excited by the potential for weird traits to freshen up how existing jobs play.

    This inane 3k character limit that's easily circumvented being removed from the forums along with some extra posts per day for established contributors.


    Btw OP, what I'm referring to is you can avoid having to waste multiple postings for one topic by posting ONE thing and then editing that post to include everything you wanted to say. Welcome to the FFXIV forums.

    Job "ability" I want to see:

    An actual physics engine to handle jumping. That's all I want. Actual, real, "video game" jumping.

    Then maybe some mechanics that require jumping over. (ground pound shockwaves, etc)

    Since we are all cool with almost all the dragons now, a skill like the FFXI Dragoon's Call Wyvern. Not for a permanent pet but for a new Long CD Offensive ability. The wyvern does its dragon thing for a period of time and then leaves.
