I'm not expecting much, especially since I tend towards less flashy, more grounded designs... then again my entire reason for entering was more to get across that (some of us think) it'd be nice if Samurai got a straight sword or three, for a change

Next time they do a weapon design contest, I hope someone submit a Sage weapon that consist of 4 mini Cruise chaser.

So I've actually never been around during one of these contests before, do they not... make an announcement it's over or anything? Dead silence until March 2022? Can I post the stuff I drew...?

Since the announcement for the contest itself states the deadline, I guess they see no need to announce when it ends, or they might do that on Twitter. And I expect it'll be dead silence till they announce the winners.

You can't post the stuff you drew online until they announce the winners. It's stated among the rules.

I think when they did the armor set contest previously they had an announcement of winners and like 1-2 runner ups for each gear set category. There was a fair amount of time that passed between the end of the contest and the announcement. Most likely because there are a lot of submissions to go through. I suspect this one to take longer simply because of more categories and it generally being easier to draw a weapon as opposed to a full on suit of armor or a costume.

Reading the rules I had gotten the impression it was a recommendation for our own benefit to ensure no one tried to steal your art, not an actual restriction. It states, "Please refrain from sharing your artworks publicly until the winners are announced, in order to protect your Entry."

Notably, it starts with "please" when the other bullet points state you "must."

I saw someone on Twitter sharing their design as a sample of their submission instead of directly sharing what they submitted on the provided template. That seemed like a good work-around as it keeps anyone else from having access to the actual file they submitted to try and claim it was their own later if it wins or something crazy like that.
