Artisans of Hydaelyn, we hope you’ve honed your skill as the time to create has come once again!

This time, your task is not to design attire, nor furnishing, but a weapon of your choice from all currently existing jobs.

To assist the Development team in better implementing your designs, we have prepared templates similar to the ones used by the team when they create, so be sure to use them when submitting entries. As with our previous design contests, the winning entries will be implemented in-game for players to obtain in the future.

Gather your tools, head to the drawing board, and show us your dream designs for the weapons you always wanted to wield for the jobs you love to play!

My dream weapon for MNK is quite simple, glowy arm/ hand effect that you can dye the color of and doesn't replace your glove model.

Yup. Gripped knuckle guards, bulky over-gloves and fitted gloves that replace handgear.

I doubt the system can allow weapon-gloves and still display other handgear though. It probably just overrides the model in that slot, and having both visible at once doesn't fit with how gear model pieces work together normally.

I really hope DRG gets a slender weapon that's more like an actual spear with edges on the head than the 2H piercing weapons we traditionally get.

This is the first one since gear design pre stormblood, so.... 5 ish years?

Finally, the perfect opportunity to design some good weapons for AST and MCH!

AST need something really special.
And MCH need a real gun!

Design contests terrify me. I hope this round people will vote for style, not artistic merit. I look forward to seeing what people come up with!

Also, am I blind or did they not include Sage and Reaper? I was going to throw in that the Sage blades should be wings (feathers?). Sadge
