Chat Bubbles In Game!! Will Make Community Better

imagine walking into Limsa with that on.

Okay, doing that. I have a pretty good idea what it would look like, because:

- Walking into Orgrimmar or Ironforge with it on was just fine. "Chat bubble screen flood" was never an issue in WoW. You'd zone into a packed city at peak play times and there would be one or two folks (out of a hundred or more) talking with /say in chat bubbles. Usually the same few folks, day after day.

- It's literally the same here. I zone into Limsa when its packed, and there's always the same three or four people using /say, while most other chat comes up in yells or shouts or general or whatever those channels are called around here (not big on chat config... yet.)

Chat bubbles would be a cool addition to this game.

As usual, with most ideas about benign optional QoL features, folks who don't particularly want chat bubbles shouldn't feel any need to stand against their addition. If they were optional, you could turn them off. If a single soul benefits from them, and those that want to can remain unaffected, then they're a positive improvement. It doesn't matter if one personally thinks they are stupid or a waste or bad or whatever. Some people would like them, and those that don't can uncheck the box.

To stave off all the possible angst that comes from changing a menu option, I'll personally compensate, in gil, for time spent unchecking that box. Look me up on Goblin should optional chat boxes come to pass and I will kindly give anyone 2 gil for that second they spent on my (our) behalf. Wouldn't want anyone to waste precious time without being compensated. /smh

Only in FFXIV does the fanbase always treats any feature that doesn't exist as a terrible thing... until it gets implemented, then it's great.

I think people are afraid of change. I see no issue with it being implemented and as long as there's a toggle 'on/off' option then everyone's happy.

Indeed.. its hard to see who talking to you directly when 50 people spam the chatbox u will never see the message! Much better Apply chat bubbles and a /general chat for people who wanna talk in a box..

Also looking down in that small chat box to see if anyone writen back is just weird much better see What they reply ingame right in front of u in chat bubbles

I used to play a game called Gaia online, this was during the prime time of online chatrooms... It had speech bubbles and it was never a problem. Some areas were overpopulated but it never made it an issue because the bubbles didn't overlap, it just shifted to the side of the other one.

I think speech bubbles in game is a fantastic idea.

This Mia supports this! Especially after seeing the trusts speaking in the dungeons and having chat bubbles.

It would be most neat if we adventurers had them too if only for immersion. Of course make them optional because there is enough lag walking through Limsa and other places.

not sure how chat bubbles will aid with immersion, or a better community, but if it can be disabled, whatever floats your boat as they say
