You get a email when it's in the demolition queue. You don't check your email? Your fault.Hi guys. I just got my house demolished, again, and wanted to vent a little frustration about it.
Now Im an active player, and I absolutely use my housing... Or well... I use the communal part of it. I keep the garden decorated and its where I queue to be near my friends who are also in the neighborhood.
I don't really use the inside. I have it all set up, but I guess I don't go inside there often.
Now don't get me wrong I'm fully aware 'if you're not using the inside maybe you shouldn't have it' and I hold no issues with square over demolishing it since players who DO want to use the inside are everywhere.
But I do find the whole system a bit ironic that the point is to make active neighborhoods, but unless your hanging out inside the house you'll lose it.
Oh well. I guess I'll have to be a bit more attentive next time to in game messages about demolition happening soon.
Might be a bad place to place this as most people are having issues getting a house. Let alone letting it sit for over a month without use. I don't say that to be mean, but might wanna check the room. Either way it sucks losing your house, and it does suck you can't have a check from the outside, but that might be a good thing. It keeps plots opening up. But they do need a better system over all honestly.
I wouldn't say "Without use" since I used the thing every day. Just not the instanced apartment sectionMight be a bad place to place this as most people are having issues getting a house. It is sad, i can understand that. Wish they would change it so that just getting on the plot counts as a reset of the timer.
Maybe they change it in Endwalker, since then we also get the housing roulette. xD

You might need to give yourself an excuse to go inside the next time you get a house, even if it's just doing inside gardening with flowerpots or using a summoning bell or once a week you and your friends go inside for the first queue.

That sucks mate, I don't think for a minute the demolition timer is there to effect people like you so you seem to have been caught in the cross fire. At least we have new housing coming reasonably soon so if you keep some gil around you should be able to get another if you're quick enough.Hi guys. Don't forget to snag your items and gil off the Resident Caretaker npc. If you don't have an apartment yet, it might be a good time to snag one so you have inventory space for all your furniture.
That's basically what I used my apartment for, have the storage full of stuff.
I also do most of my crafting inside my house, same with interacting with retainers and mending gear. Other than that...I'm always looking at ways to improve what I do have in my house.
