Housing Demolition Sadness

Hi guys. I just got my house demolished, again, and wanted to vent a little frustration about it.

Now Im an active player, and I absolutely use my housing... Or well... I use the communal part of it. I keep the garden decorated and its where I queue to be near my friends who are also in the neighborhood.

I don't really use the inside. I have it all set up, but I guess I don't go inside there often.

Now don't get me wrong I'm fully aware 'if you're not using the inside maybe you shouldn't have it' and I hold no issues with square over demolishing it since players who DO want to use the inside are everywhere.

But I do find the whole system a bit ironic that the point is to make active neighborhoods, but unless your hanging out inside the house you'll lose it.

Oh well. I guess I'll have to be a bit more attentive next time to in game messages about demolition happening soon.

I'm sorry for you, but this is going to sound a bit harsh.

If you don't go back to your house at least once every 45 days (going back is not enough, you have to use it), you don't really need it, because you just have to go back, interact with the land via chocobo, pnj sale, FC chest, retainers, etc. Once every 44 days to keep it. Once every 44 days to keep them.

I have never had a problem since Heavensward.

And you have to check next to it, your spams and you have the status of your CD housing in the Estate tab, it appears when you have little time left.

I do go back. It's where I queue, but yeah I don't really use the inside after finishing decorating. Just way more communal to hang out outside. It was a really good spot too! Next to my free company friends and a different free company I meme with and water their plants.

But like I said, I don't hold any issues about it. Demolishing it cause I wasn't using the inside is very fair.

I just find it ironic and a bit sad that I was using the house for the cited reason square doesn't give us fully instanced housing (interacting with the community and junk) and lost it over not remembering to use the inside enough.

Yeah I know, they also send you emails (Though the email i registered with is long since outdated so I never checked it for this stuff). Fully my bad for not seeing them. I do wish they'd send you an ingame post about it rather than just notifications, since the "New Mail" thing shows up on the UI and is much harder to miss. But again fully my bad for missing the notifications.

Either way put your retainer bell inside your house. Now you got a reason to go inside. Or put some banger songs on your house radio you want to listen to at least once a day.

Im a bit blind to the system notification settings. Dont really read chat unless in party.

Unfortunately the market board and retainer bell were right outside my house haha, so going inside for it for ventures would sorta not work as incentive.

I know? Im not asking for it to change. Just lamenting losing it despite using it for the whole reason we have neighborhoods instead of fully instanced individual homes

OP it's too bad that there are not more things to do with a house / inside a house because I feel ya.
It's too bad you can't just sit in a chair, chat with your friends inside, gpose, or run around and have that count as "using" the house, especially when there are so few furnishings we can interact with.
