Suggestion : clicking spells noise

Hello everyone !

I come here today with a suggestion about a very annoying (imo) sound which can't seem to be disable.
Lots of players just spam the button of the next ability they want to use, just to not clip the GCD or to get the fastest launch possible. As such, two repeating sounds play themselves : the error sound (because the spell is still on cooldown for example, or the action isn't ready) and a little clicking sound that plays even if you just press a key.
The error sound can be deactivated quite easily, and that's good ! Sadly, it's not the same for the little clicking sound, and it appears to be very annoying and intrusive.

I know that this sound depends on the system sounds volume bar. But sadly, so does the duty finder popping sound. I don't want to lower this bar too much, since a lot of useful sounds depend on it.

So, maybe an option to cross or a macro command would be nice !

I don't know of a game that lets you disable that specifically.

I guess it's a why not thing, but you could try not spamming the button til near the end of the gcd.

Is this a PC problem? Because on console I don't think I've ever heard this clicking when spamming the skill button till it comes off cooldown....

I ... personally don't have this at all when i spam my keys.
Have you tried locking your hotbars ? There should be a small lockpad icon somewhere on your UI.
I remember skill icons make a clicking noise when they're interacted with while your hotbar is unlocked but that's about it.

Go to character configuration theeen > log window settings at very bottom > in general tab unselect these two options
"Display error messages when actions fail."
"Display recast time error messages."

You may also wish to disable the "Your mount can fly no higher" message here!
"Disable altitude error messages."

Uncertain why this is in logs and not elsewhere, it is most confusing.

Be sure to test in combat only! It will still produce the error bleep beep sound if you spam buttons out of combat.

the problem is that spamming the button is a necessity for me when doing high end content that require heavy concentration, like savage. Plus, it helps to not clip your gcd because of the game buffer

Maybe your "system sound" is very low so that you dont hear it, but i assure you it's there, even with locked hotbars. Its different from the clicking sound you mentionned.
This sound could easily be unnoticed by most people, of that i'm sure, but i personnaly pay very close attention to those little things and it easily ruins my concentration

Tis okay! I know, this just seemed like good place to put how to disable the other obnoxious sounds. I did not even know this could be done.. mechanist made it necessary to figure out with heatblast. No offense assumed. Hmm, if I do discover how to disable other sound I will edit original post. In other games with sounds like this I usually remove the offending sound, if Square does not remove perhaps we can? The FF14 .dat files are fricken massive though..
