The differences are two fold. One, 4 man dungeon content is sanctioned by the game creators and rated by my country's rating board. Two, I don't communicate or interact beyond just doing my job/role and leaving the dungeon.
Sure it is (at some point), but only if you re totally sure, that this person is under 18 and you concent to have "virtual intercourse" with it.As true or not true that might be, it doesn't matter. It is against the law, no matter if you just imagine your characters doing it or yourself. And i speak here from a moral standpoint and law wise.
It is literally illegal to engage minors, in any way, with such stuff. No matter if it's roleplay or sexting or just shoving your uncovered tail into someones dms.
In real life, you can actually tell the age based on the physical appearance (for the most part). Online, you cant. You can ask, but name one teen who never lie about their age. I assume, ERP discords may have a rule to enter those only if you re over 18.
Doesnt matter. If a 9 year old joins you and you re not care about their age, you re guilty as well (from you own point of view). Just because you dont communicate, does it mean you re free from your responsibility?
When I m just /pet a lalafell, does this make me guilty in your opinion?

How is it victim blaming to say that the children in question should not be lying about their age to experience player ran content not suitable for children?
This is the real world and this entire notion of do not blame the victim is a strange one. The reality is in many cases the victim could have done something different that could have help mitigate their own personal risk. This is not to say tye victim is at fault for the action done to them but they are at fault for not taking steps to mitigate their risk factors.
Just view it akin to to someone crying about having their car stolen when they left the keys in the car. Sure the person who stole the car is majority and fault but can we say the person who left the keys in the car is not 100% at fault? If you want to use age as an aspect that makes it different then say it is a 16 year old who owned the car.
At the core we are responsible to do what we can to minimize our own personal risk. Rules and laws do not provide sufficient protection it is up to us to make up the difference.
I mean, I know this is a raging inferno at this point, but honestly since the game's rating T for Teen, I just assume every single player I encounter and do not know IRL is a 13 year old. Never had a problem.
You might encounter an underage person who's lying about their age absolutely anywhere on the internet, so what are you proposing? Is the entire internet completely off limits for adult activities?
And we need to stop with the "games rated T for Teen" line.
A) ESRB does not rate or regulate online interactions in games, as people have pointed out several times in this thread. Protection from bad online experiences has ALWAYS boiled down to personal responsibility; or in the case of kids parental responsibility.
B) It's common knowledge at this point that underage people are heavily involved in every single aspect of the internet; there's no actual difference between a T game and an M/AO game when it comes to the potential to run into a minor.
I generally view strangers as NPC's :P So also never had a problem. NPC's do not have rights. :P
A joke sort of just in case anyone was wondering I do not engage in with many ingame I am a mostly discord pleb and extremely sus over the no mic peeps.
Wow just wow, the lengths you are going to just to abstain from any responsibility as an adult. People with this attitude ARE the problem here oh well they say, it's just a game doesn't matter if it's a person behind that character. This is exactly what abusers do to their victims, deflect, oh you made me do it, you made me say it, you made me be angry so I couldn't control myself you made me get aroused because you wore a bikini, you made me want to hurt you because I have needs too! That is how disgusting this thread is. The victim blame is real, you actually expect a 9 year old to know their mind or a 13 year old. There is a reason they are not adults at that age. Just stop! This is disgusting. What does a nine year old in a game in a dungeon killing npcs with to do with the erp community not policing themselves? If you are into it and a adult I could give two sheets but if you don't care that you maybe abusing a minor well I have no use for you and you're a sorry excu itse for a human. Stop projecting the responsibility onto a child. This game and it's contents that the developer made are for teens not adults who can't stop touching themselves. Pleeeessse. Give me a break. Victim blame it makes you look ugly.Sure it is (at some point), but only if you re totally sure, that this person is under 18 and you concent to have "virtual intercourse" with it.

It may be a good advice if you step from the forums for a while and get some rest. Please come back if you can make a discussion on a not emotional level.

It is a joint effort the parents are also at fault. Parents need to stop blaming others for their poor parenting. Teach your kid that's the lying has consequences some of which they cannot easily walk back from. Life is full of danger and authority figures can only do so much to protect you that includes parents. They need to teach kids that this world is dangerous and how they act and dress can have potential consequences and if they are uncomfortable with those consequences then do not wear or do x.Wow just wow, the lengths you are going to just to abstain from any responsibility as an adult. It is that simple too many people think oh horrible person did x it is all their fault but if you ask them what did they do to minimize the risk factors they often tell ya nothing. That is the problem and as another person shown it is a byproduct of being privileged. From an early age my parents told me the world can be a cruel place and the only person that will ever always be 100% on your side and be around all the time to protect you is yourself.
It is not victim blaming to point out that the victim could have protected themselves better.
The real world is not a daycare center it is not designed to protect everyone from everything we need to make up the difference. This reminds me of my neighbor during covid his packages were stolen and when I suggested he should get a camera system, his reply was why? People should not steal that is why we have laws etc . . . but if they had just put a camera they could have maybe made it easier for the proper authorities to do their job.
In short protecting yourself also makes it easier for the laws and rules to work more efficiently.

Tell that to a mother who child was abused by a stranger in a game because they couldn't control their urges. Why wouldn't it be emotional? Seriously the whole topic of adults not being careful with their needs is the problem here.
Enjoy Life you only get one.
