Nothing wrong with that. I speak what is on my mind. So I have very little filters. It gets me in trouble more often than not, but the core friends I have always come to me because they know I will be honest even if it hurts them.

To be fair this I do personally find this to be an interesting discussion thread overall even if if was not the original intent. I do think it would have been better if people mleft the perosnal judgments and attacks at the door so to speak. Though I get these are largely heated topics and especially within today's climate.

Still I think it is something worth talking about especially when it comes to the topic of does the media we consume define who we are. Like one of my favorite anime romance stories is Koi Kaze which is about incest with a minor does that mean I am into incest/ pedophilie. Some would say yes others no. The world we live in is not black and white so I welcome the discussion of differing views but unfortunately people often start to see red when differing views that conflict with their own sensibilities are brought up.

Either way I hope a civil discussion can still be had in yhe future regarding such topics but unfortunately I doubt that would ever be the case when it comes to touch touching subjects.

Say what you will, proper moderation would've locked up this simply on the basis that body mods is the topic, not on what it entails or the ramifications and it would've been locked up with a moderator explaining why they're locking it up as early as 10 posts.

Yet here we are, over 1000 posts long, after exploring pretty much every possible avenue ventured to prove one's point.

No one is gonna onvince me this needed to be discussed in such manner in the FFXIV forums.

This thread has really made me question do we even need an NA official forum. The fact such a thread could exist and the fact people can feel okay with posting such vile takes without any consequence is what is most appalling by all of this.

I get free speech is a thing but the moderation team should not let people get away with such damaging view points.

What vile takes? After going through this thread, i've not seen anyone who has hateful, vile, or any stance that makes me question the need for moderation. Is it because this game is so harsh when it comes to protecting players feelings in game that people can't disagree on the forums without the need to cry for mods?

The topic had some good back and forth about laws, what is consider crossing the line. Art and rights. The amount of perspectives alone on the topic is amazing. It also shows the flaws of the western world with people acting like you need to be locked up just because you get turned on by not real art pixels or hentai.
