My point is that when problems within the community become difficult to obscure, there's a pretty high chance that the 'suits' will begin to push for something to be done and then suddenly awkward measures are put forward to try and deal with such problems.

Most people are well aware that ERP is going to always be a thing in MMO's. Yet there's a big difference between it being hidden away in specific areas and creeping into the public eye/being openly defended/actively advertised.

You could have used a better example than that. NGS is having way more problems then that post is made people to believe and i mean that and im not talking about content If you want to know ask) . but for that to happen it has be major. Remember how 1.0 was? That's was the time that they step in. The only time its effecting there money. From my understanding anyways its low under radar that they not really looking into. Unless a major lawsuit happens that when it going to happen.

This game as a whole, mind you i started out 2.0, i never really noticed until i looked for it.

As an aside, for those claiming that nothing will be done in response to creepy and inappropriate content in a Japanese game:



What a lot of people seem to be failing to realise is that many of us are more than willing to turn a blind eye so long as such things are done in private and not excused/bragged about. Since a portion of players are becoming so brazen in the defense of such things, I suspect that it is but a matter of time before Square Enix decide to crack down. They already did as much by removing the ability to chat in PvP, since the toxicity wasn't a good look for the company when promoting the game.

Push too hard? Don't be surprised if there's pushback in turn.

It is not toxic to call out people weaponizing kids for an agenda. If your kid does not understand the risks with being online. Than they should not be online. Plain and simple. No reason to punish people who enjoy mods because of bad parents.


Also this game is doing very well. It would be a dumb business choice to upset players with removing mods at this point.

I don't get what the problem with NSFW modding is. People can't see them unless they have them installed and activated. If someone has them installed they shouldn't be complaining about it.

To me, it seems that people are complaining more about inappropriate chat conversations than the actual FFXIV mods that people are using. The problem is not the mods.

I personally consider a person's real age as private information and honestly, asking someone to give you their real age does little. If you are talking with a minor they will most probably lie about their age because they know that you might stop talking with them if they say that they are minors. If someone is around ERPs they probably know what they are getting themselves involved with. I am not on NA servers and I haven't done much RP-ing myself but from what I've experienced lewd people will approach you if your search info is lustful. And will do that in whispers. We may move to discord or just flirt in-game for a couple of minutes and that's it.

If you are talking with a minor they will most probably lie about their age because they know that you might stop talking with them if they say that they are minors. If someone is around ERPs they probably know what they are getting themselves involved with.

This is exactly what I did back in FFXI and Guild Wars, from around age 13.

Equally hilarious as watching you make up your own version of what he said. You seem to require some reading glasses, because he didn't refer to having any such power, but to what collective pushback can achieve - and this isn't solely about what's being done in private.
