I don't they could do a thing about it since its on your side and not on the server side. Ones who have the mods is only ones that can see them. Only way for them to find them would be to go search everyones pc or console for them which would be breaking your privacy. It be just like if you added reshade or enb to the game.

As someone who was groomed and had plenty of unfortunate experiences with p3dos (I'm 20 now), I feel conflicted. I don't think ERP is inherently bad provided it's kept private and not shoved in other people's faces. I didn't really have an issue with the lewd Twitter accounts and NSFW mods until I realised that people were also doing it for Lalas. Grooming and predators will exist regardless of whether the NSFW mods exist or not. But it does make me uncomfortable seeing people just basically saying fuck children. My parents weren't tech savvy and I didn't have a good relationship with them, so I don't think you can just say it's up to the parents to teach their kids and leave the rest of us suffering. Companies need to take some accountability too.

I would hate to see mods disappear off the face of the earth, however this game isn't 18+. People should be reported and banned for doing it publicly because it should all be about consent, no? (Although you do need to mod too to be able to see NSFW mods, so there's that...)

I don't think it's fair to say that NSFW mods and the ERP community = grooming, but it'd be wrong to say that with the freedom this game has, that it has attracted plenty of creeps who would play purely for the purpose of lewding their characters. But even then, I don't think it's bad until you start lewding childlike characters.

Personally I'm happier if creeps are making use of pixels rather than actual children (I say this out of personal experience) but I don't think it should just continue unregulated.

I will say that I've never really been harassed in the game. Perhaps Cerberus is just better with keeping it away from the public face. Out of sight, out of mind.

Isn't that common sense though? Also, my statement came from the idea that people are lobbing to different things together. That which is the normal NSFW modders, and the obvious bad ones. Which I would treat as two separate things. Same with the FFXIV Modding community.

I mean, yeah, it is. I haven't really seen people saying they're the same, though. What I've seen is ignoring any kind of SFW stuff out there existing, and just making it seem like an ERP extension.

Not all paedophiles are child sex offenders, and conversely not all child sex offenders are paedophiles. Some people who sexually abuse children are not preferentially attracted to children at all. Attraction aspect is key when it comes labeling someone a paedophile.

Paedophiles (as defined by the fifth Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) are individuals who are preferentially or solely sexually attracted to prepubescent children, generally 13 years or less.

There are distinct classifications for other attractions to children, depending on the developmental stage the adult is sexually attracted to. Those who find children on the cusp of puberty sexually attractive are known as “hebephiles”. “Ephebophiles” are individuals who are sexually attracted to children who have reached puberty.

In short it is a disorder that unfortunately no means of conversion therapy will alter how they feel. I get it is a social crime but the fact remains that the stigma around the attraction towards non socially accepted as been used to harm and persecute individuals for years. In short our society has been punishing people for simply existing due to social norms for a very long time and one has to ask how can we say x action is not okay but y action is because the target is different.

Please do not get me wrong I do not think people should be free to do as they please with children but I also do not believe that as a society we should pass judgment against others that operate differently in terms of whom they find themselves attracted to. I also think we should support other means like hentai, art, digital images as a means to allow such individuals an outlet, and be more open and understanding to their situation. I am no doctor but I do not think alienating and forcing such individuals in fear of being judged unfairly does much to incentives them to open up and seek help.

Such isolation may even lead then to going over the edge cause they may feel they are all alone in this world. Mental health issues does not make some a freak but the outlook on mental health from our society does, yet likes to place that burden on us because we operate differently.
