That's a rather disingenuous approach to the concerns raised when there's literally people throughout this thread arguing in favour of exposing minors to NSFW content, claiming that nude art of minors is acceptable and that people with an attraction to minors should be allowed to seek 'relief' online.

This isn't a case of a moral panic over nothing. There's no smoke without fire and the fact that this discussion has been had multiple times is very telling in itself.

At least Yoshi hasn't just dismissed it as a "moral panic" and has outright asked players to stop doing it as per Fukuro's post...

Addendum—On Adding Younger-Looking Playable Characters
Among some of the feedback we received were requests for playable characters that resembled young boys and girls. Unfortunately, this is one request we cannot consider for ethical reasons.

With every passing year the debate surrounding moral and ethical issues in games grows more intense, and we do not want to present children in battle or in pain—and posing such characters sexually and taking screenshots and so forth would be expressly forbidden.

In any event, regardless of what our players did or did not intend to do, the fact remains that if a review board were to evaluate such content and determine it were unacceptable, we would be forced to suspend FFXIV’s service. We ask that you keep these factors in mind as we strive to abide by the changing standards of the times.

Posting this AGAIN because people are going is stupid directions that don't pertain to the issue at hand.

Asmongold recently did a interview with someone on nsfw mods and lewd gposing.
If I remember right yoshi said this can be serious trouble for FFXIV because someone could look at a post of a lewd image of a lalafell or the twins/ ryne and learn its from FFXIV and this is what the game could show.

You think after this interview SE is gonna double down on bans? Seeing as asmon is one of the biggest MMO streamers its not hard to think a SE employee or two was watching.

I can understand the concern. But there are a few things to keep in mind.

1. If you don't have your in game name attached to your pictures or your Twitter/where you post the pics, SE can't do anything.
2. The only people who can see the NSFW mods are those that installed it.

Now, I've had this happen to me. On another server I had a female character with a particular outfit on. Someone in my FC had a NSFW mod that would take the top from that outfit and make their male character look shirtless. But for females, it made them topless. That FC member proceeded to take a screenshot of my female character in this way and show me.

It was eyeroll inducing and kinda cringey, but nothing I could do about it. Only they and anyone who had that mod saw that.

RPing has zero to do with this. This is about mods to characters, not you in general. You =/= your pixel chracter.

The issue is this.

Using those NSFW mods on pixel characters owned by a company (SE) w/o their permission, and posted on the internet. That's it. It has nothing to do with you or me IRL.

I guarantee you there is at least one person on every server that has mods for their character of some kind, and can see your character in a different way. Not all mods are NSFW. Some give longer hair, permanent long nails, more body hair, bigger butts, etc.

First I do not think anyone was pro hyper realistic art for the record. Second a crusade agaisnt those that are in favor of not punishing individuals simply for existing. It is unfortunate that somene is attracted to children and if that person can use hentai or game characters to help them from physically harming a child or themselves I am all for it.

If that makes me a pedo defender or horrible person so be it I am already a freak / idiot by most peoples standards anyways.

I am big on innocent until proven guilty and I do not think having hentai or game characters is enough evidence to charge someone with a crime regarding CP so if it is not a good enough metric for the law our agreed upon rules why should it be good enough to witch hunt?

If it matters of one persons opinion, I do not think you are an idiot or a freak. Despite many people spewing vitriol due to a intellectual debate, and attempting to claim things about you as a person just to get a rise out of you. You have literally not once assumed as others have what someone may or may not be. Most of the replies you have gotten were just people 'Reeeeing' and thinking they know who you are as a person by placing labels on you just to make themselves feel better. There was a silly song about 'assumptions making an ass out of you and me'. Most have gone that distance in spades. When you give them any information on you as a person they jumped all over it as if they finally had the perfect rebuttal. Even if it came off as being vindictive, and catty to others reading their posts.

What you have posted is how I feel on the matter as well. I honestly had commissions for a D&D home brew that had plant people who were 'small' within it. I was kind of terrified to even draw them because they were gender neutral, but could choose what parts they wanted. They were clearly not human, and all of the legal age character wise, but I still looked up laws in my state because artist have been getting flack for all kinds of dumb things, even just drawing characters who are short and flat chested. Apparently when speaking to a lawyer just to make extra sure there were no weird laws against cartoon comic book characters of this nature, they informed me it was just artwork, and not even of real people who existed. They also said the judges typically do not police artwork, which was kind of nice. Even drawing a lala, just a regular lala in their armor could be seen as 'horrible' for no reason at all just to use it as a means to harass someone about 'real children'. I am sorry but people make commissions so they could have artwork of their characters. I kind of hope that makes people convulse at there computer desks with pure rage.

If someone were to find any of my artwork to get off to, rather than harming an actual real life human, I am all for it no matter what disorders or chemical abnormalities they may have. People will find anything to wank off to, you never know what someone is doing in their free time, nor should anyone care unless it is breaking the laws and harming people.

No one in Japan are rounded up for reading goro hentai because they could one day do what the characters do within those hentai. No they don't just label the artist a murderer because of a fetish or something drawn. (Unless they are....are they? The artists are still posting, so I assume not, I may be wrong.)

On topic it is a mod that no one know any of these people have, as long as it does not give players an advantage within the multiplayer content allowing them to win in pvp or do as bots do and sink into the floor to kill bosses without taking damage so they can gold farm in seconds, 'do not install a mod' because it is 'against tos'. any mods even ones that can help you have audio queues as pop ups if you may be deaf or better lighting for those who get sensory overload even those. You naughty Eorzeans. No mods for you. 'Go play another game'.( for anyone who is wondering this may indeed be sarcasm)
