Retainer service showing differing amounts

I have 2 retainers and wanted a 3rd.
On the page it shows 1 retainer as 1.40 Euros BUT on the payment confirmation page it then states it wants to charge me 8.35 Euros.
If i select next it says "Credit card information could not be verified.
Please make sure you have registered your information correctly."

Additionally, im in New Zealand which is nowhere near Europe, So WHY am i being charged in Euros instead of US$? Almost every game charges me in US not Euros, worse still, Euros charges me far more than the sub would cost if I was charged in US$.
Do you guys seriously think New Zealand is a part of Europe? We arent a part of the US but at least US$ is more reasonable to use, Euros suck!

Retainers run for the same period as your subscription, which suggests that you've paid for multiple months at a time. So what they're charging you is a prorata charge to have a retainer until the end of your current subscription period. You can't pick the duration, they only run for as long as your subscription.

As for the currency, the game only has 3 regions (NA, EU and JP), but since Australia and NZ are also "PAL" regions, you get put into the Europe game region. Or at least that's how I understand, maybe someone else can explain better, but I don't think this is just XIV that does this.

Edit: As for the "could not be verified", possibly your card company doesn't allow transactions to be made made in Euro's, I don't know for sure, but just an idea.
