Thread: Version 2.0

Ok. So I know everyone including myself is looking forward to the version 2.0. But as I was reading their plans for when it comes out and that I also saw they will be putting it on sale. Does this mean even the people who bought the game in the first place have to pay for it again?

These are the changes that excite me the most:-

- Addition of Miqo'te males. Highland Hyur and Roegadyn females for version 2.0
- Creation of more character customization options (e.g. , hairstyle).
- Two PvP venues, Coliseum and Frontlines, to be released after version 2.0. Unique zones to be created so
as not to affect non-participating players. Release of PvP-specific abilities, gear, and ranking.
- A new server system designed for increased speed and performance.
- A complete redesign of current repetitive maps.
- Party/content matching for players from different World servers.
- In-game delivery and mail systems.
- PvP content.
- Player housing (estates).
- Revamping of the retainer system and markets.

I am dead excited about the changes that are being underway! And it will be exciting to see this when it does come out in January 2013. My opinion is that they should take as much time as needed to get this games' full potential! I never would have thought they would make PvP on this game. I can see Square Enix really did their homework on this one. And I feel they have learnt from the occurrences they happened in 2010.

Jan 2013 is just when they estimate the re-release, we'll be playing the 2.0 beta around September - October time.

You missed one of the most important things, UI redesign, mouse and keyboard design with drag and drop interface.

Yes, But I was putting the ones I cant wait for. The UI redesign, mouse and keyboard is self explanatory for those who have already read it.

I don't think we are going to have to pay for 2.0 at all if we are already playing.

They will provide a client update. Of course if you want to get a DVD with 2.0 you will have to pay. Unless they do some promo for us that got it when it was released and have the original boxes .

If we got hard copies of 2.0 for free for paying all this time, I'll take it. But if we have to pay, I'll just stick to the new client download. It's really no biggie

I could be wrong but I think Yoshi did say those that own the game up to a certain point wont have to pay for 2.0. We can just download it. I cant remember where I read this maybe it was in one of the PDF files or was in one of Yoshi's letters until someone or I can have solid proof it's better to think this is a up in the air rumor.
