If Yoshida is not the director of the game, I would play it. Tired of him using excuses like "it's too stressful" to gimp content, making it boring and unchallenging.FFXI was online.
FFXIV is online.
So FFXVII should be the next MMORPG.
If Yoshi-P launch a new FF online game (in 2023) and Endwalkers is the last expansion... what would you do?
1. You'd move inmediately?
2. You'd keep playing FFXIV for a while?
3. You'd play both if can have a discount for the pack?
4. You'd play both no matter what?
To be extremely fair.. that's the playerbases fault. I mean when people complain that they can't beat the solo dungeons in the MSQ, they have to put in things like very easy mode and stuff. He's going off how people play the content, and sadly most people just can't play the game. We the people who come here on the forums are a VERY small % of players.
Most people can play the game. The issue actually isn't the issue of skill or having a disability. It's the small amount of players that just want to be lazy. Many of them just start throwing out the name of a disability they looked up on google as a tool to pressure game devs to make a game easier for them. It's not a problem unique to this game. The issue in this is that this small group of people who want to be lazy and have the game handed to them ironically put a ridiculous amount of effort into being as loud and annoying as possible. If they'd put like 10% of that effort into actually playing the game they'd finish all the content outside of extreme/ultimate/savage without any issues. To be extremely fair.. that's the playerbases fault. If Yoshi-P had as much influence in it as he does in XIV I wouldn't move at all.
Besides I don't want another game with the same design philosophy as XIV.
If someone wants a XIV like MMORPG they should stick with XIV and XVII should be a different experience.
Furthermore I have zero interest in a new MMO if it's going to involve hack 'n slash combat and homogenized job play.
Seconded. And maybe if they had the HW writers on it for the story part.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
The fact that the difficulty curve isn't that high for story content is why I like it so I am exactly the opposite. I'd only play it if Yoshi P was directing it. Story content should not be locked behind content that is too hard for the poorest player to get past. Save the difficulty for savage, extreme, and ultimate.
