That would be 4 MMOs though. FFXI would have to be killed off. Many people forget that SE does the Dragon Quest MMO which is not released in the West.
Really all we need for FFXIV is a engine update which is slated for 7.0/8.0

Play both (as long as 14 gets content of course)
I don't think we need a new MMO title. SE needs to get back to its roots with a solid game in FFXVI, then do at least two more single player titles before even considering another MMO. I don't think FFXIII and FFXV were bad, but when you compare them to FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, and FFXII, they fall short. After the initial failure, FFXIV recaptured the magic, so SE now needs to do that with flagship single player titles.
Honestly, FFXI would have to die out first, too. If I knew FFXI would have lasted this long, I would have tried it years ago while still playing this.
Wishful thinking?
But to answer the question, I'm technically not an MMO player. I play FFXIV because it's part of the FF franchise and, most importantly, because it's a lot more solo-friendly than other MMOs out there.
But well, now that I've had a taste, I might try a new FF MMO even if they move away from that. And keep playing FFXIV too.

I'd absolutely give it a go. One of my biggest regrets with XIV is not starting it as soon as ARR was released and sticking with it through to today.
Depends entirely on whether it's a good game or not.
MMORPG players generally like to invest time into a game long-term, which means they're cautious to pick up and pay for something that might turn out to be a flop a few months down the line. It's one reason MMO's are a hard market to pick up and many developers avoid them, also why WoW was dominant for so many years even after multiple bad expansions.
I'd definitely play and switch game it if it was good, but I'd never just jump ship without being certain it was worth it.
I'd end up playing both. But I rather they just overhaul this game than make a new one. Better graphics, engine etc.
I wouldn't move immediately simply because I was around for the FFXIV betas and 1.0 launch. I'd play it sure. However it would really depend on the actual experience of the new title on whether or not I stop playing this game at that time.
If Yoshida is not the director of the game, I would play it. Tired of him using excuses like "it's too stressful" to gimp content, making it boring and unchallenging.FFXI was online.
FFXIV is online.
So FFXVII should be the next MMORPG.
If Yoshi-P launch a new FF online game (in 2023) and Endwalkers is the last expansion... what would you do?
1. You'd move inmediately?
2. You'd keep playing FFXIV for a while?
3. You'd play both if can have a discount for the pack?
4. You'd play both no matter what?
Uh, Endwalker isn't the last expansion. I've heard it's only the last expansion of the Hydealen/Zodriack arc.
Also it depends really. On the content and what the events and stuff are like.
