Just a random thought I had while thinking about Urianger and Moenbryda lol

I dont really remember it well, but alphi's family invest a large sum of money on rowena and it pays off greatly and one of the reason alphi's family have power aside from simply being heroic..... most of scion's resources are handled by tataru currently and i think that is a good think, i mean, most of scion is probably adventurer minded or scholar minded which would probably spent most of the money on anything shiny or interesting without thinking much of economic value lol..... which is not a very good thing
Your so right that and without spoilers, that's why a certain scion bought a sam sword that cost more than a fully furnished villa and did not look at the price tagI dont really remember it well, but alphi's family invest a large sum of money on rowena and it pays off greatly and one of the reason alphi's family have power aside from simply being heroic..... most of scion's resources are handled by tataru currently and i think that is a good think, i mean, most of scion is probably adventurer minded or scholar minded which would probably spent most of the money on anything shiny or interesting without thinking much of economic value lol..... which is not a very good thing![]()
Still one of the funniest moment to me in stormblood XD i really love how much detail and attention the game put into the scion XD
But if i ever have to invest to anything in this game, i will put my money on gaius's new government and have rowena to be the financial advisor XD
My question is, how much is a Gil worth in real world terms? It is 1 yen, 1 US dollar, 10 US cents, 1 GBP?
I see Thancred investing in the entertainment sector as it's a good way to get information and would give him an excuse to be in different places all the time.
Y'shtola and Urianger would invest in adventuring parties to bring back relics
Krile would invest in mineral concerns, businesses entering the Ala Mhigan market, and shipping.
Tataru's invested in a coffee biscuit production company, real estate, Ceruleum exploration, Rowena, and whatever passes for a mutual fund.
Teleportation, apparently.
I can see Tataru being a closet gillionair thanks to her early investment in crystal teleports.
I don't think we can get anywhere near making a conversion rate for gil when prices in FF14 make no sense.
Things are priced not based on labor or ingredient cost or any metric we use to price things in the real world, but based on the game's mechanical needs.
Leather armor from ARR will cost a few hundred gil.
Leather armor from ShB can cost 38.5k.
I don't know if there's much we can extrapolate from something so warped by ludo narrative dissonance.
Leather armor from ShB will cost
No idea. The only thing I could think of, at least as far as the worth of gil for NPCs in game goes, is that the fancy sword Gosetsu pawned off was enough to purchase and fully furnish a house. Think it was 5 million?
5 million is just the price of the house. To furnish it, you'd gotta get the decorations too. Now, what kind of decorations are we talking about here? Because that can skyrocket the price of the house greatly...
You'd have to ask Tataru on that one. She's the one who brought it up. lol
