As a Non-Native English Speaker This Game is the Most Hellish Game I Have Ever Played

This is the first translated game i've seen that pushes the limits of english so badly that sometimes i reach a point where i can almost understand nothing. I mean i am not expecting them to make the characters speak like they just learned how to speak english but sometimes it feels and looks like it is forced in so many ways. Like sometimes it really makes me think like they are trying so hard and forcing themselves so badly to translate it with academic words, and words i don't even think that native english speakers uses in their entire life, not even one single time. I mean as a non-native English speaker, Urianger's dialogues are extremely difficult to read for example. And not only they are using academic words but just like the Urianger example they are often changing the words for the sake of the characters and it almost feel like i am reading a new, made up language. I really don't understand why they are forcing their limits so hard to use difficult words. There must be a way to translate it with simpler words from japanese. Cause like this, often times i feel like i am reading an essay about professional english usage in academic symposiums instead of a story dialogue in a mmorpg game. Just because of these reasons i always role my eyes when i have to read a dialogue that includes Urianger and characters like him, this translation made me hate Urianger. And all of this bores me so greatly and makes me feel insecure. Yeah this game literally made me insecure about my english level. I used to think like my english was in a good place compared to so many other people in my country (i live in Turkey and in Turkey i can't say that there are much of a people who knows how to speak english) But now i don't even think my english is good in any way. Like i wanna enjoy and relief, have a brief moment but game makes me feel like i need to stop playing and study english...

The first word that came into my mind that i can give an example of this is quintessential. And this word isn't even bad compared to all the other words that they are choosing to use where they could have easily pick lot more simpler words. Like what is the point of making characters say quintessential where you could have easily said essential. What is the point of that rather then making it hard for us players to understand the story. I am using the translate like 3rd party program. Like people who can not play FFXIV without gshade, i can't play FFXIV without my google translate

I don't think it really matters whether you're native or not, most people don't speak like that.

Sounds like you're getting the proper Urianger experience.

Even the other scions shake their heads and make.. "wut?" faces when he talks. He is supposed to be frustratingly arcane and verbose.

For a non English speaker you got the slang use of 'like' down pretty well. You know like it's used like in every other word like when your like a teenager. Like.

Or wouldst thou prefer a most studious lesson in ye olde English mayhap a history on how formal English was back in days of yor?

Its old english. When Urianger speaks that is the real hard point for most english speakers, non native or native. His dialogue is often confusing and requires re-reading his lines between 2-5 times.
