So today we get our once a year chance to get the ridiculously expensive costumes and mounts at a discount, yet even with the discount the prices are insanely high.

It's pretty bad when at normal your online store double dipping is asking outrageous prices for cosmetics, but what does it say when you only put this stuff on sale once a year and it's still way too expensive?

$12.60 for most costumes.
$20.99 for SD Fenrir. (This one's been in the shop for several years.)
$16.80 for most mounts.
$3.50-$5 for minions and many are not on sale!
$7.00 for chocobo barding! (Why?)
$8.40 for Megaflare emote and most emotes are coming in at $4.90! (Again, why?)

I could do this all day, but the point is pretty clear. Squeenix can't even give us reasonable prices on shop items when a sale is on! This would be less an issue if this was a f2p game, but it isn't. We're paying a $15/mo subscription and being expected to cough up money for cosmetics as if this was a f2p shop!

You know I used to play Star Trek Online and even they had better deals in their shop, and that IS a f2p game!

I... unfortunately have to agree, I could buy another 30 days of play time with how much a lot of the stuff costs, but I guess that was the point, given it's apparently how they fund the game's development while SE leeches the actual sub money?

Expensive being very subjective.

The market accepts and supports.. the pricing continues.

Compare any of that to pricing of things someone might pay for daily such as gas.. or a snack, or even something someone might buy that they didn't need to like a shot of liquor on a weekend out, or watching ONE showing of a movie.

People commonly pay far more for far shorter experiences.

I'm with you though, these prices seem reasonable for what they are. I understand that it's not for everyone, but $20 for a permanent item is a lot less than what I pay for things in other hobbies.
