3rd party apps are already banned - just because they "turn a blind eye" does not mean it is allowed. If you mention the use of them in game then you can be damn sure you will get a strike against your account at the least (if reported).
It would be a big hit in the US and EU Playerbase. But it would literally change nothing in the JP Playerbase
nah huge part of our pop plays on console and i'm sure many pc would move strictly if they had to but would be enough of a hit would for sure cause problems.
Question. What evidence, other than anecdotal, do you rely upon for the assertion that the majority of the player base is PC ?
X to doubt there. You're severely overestimating how many people use 3rd party things. Even just the fact that it's not allowed will keep the vast majority of people from going there. And make no mistake, it is not allowed, regardless of whether it is actively enforced or not. So no, I do not think a 'large portion' of the PC playerbase would leave over it.
Most raiders would probably throw in the towel if they were unable to use ACT since it's that hypothetical scenario we're talking about.
Note I'm not saying all but a large majority. At least from the people I've run in over the years.
I should made it more clear I meant if these tools were banned/removed, simply "not allowed" is already the case so that doesn't mean anything hence my other comment that you probably already read when posting that this thread is basically useless.

So, you were speaking anecdotally, invoking supposed Western-centric 'tradition' in the face of a decidedly non-Western MMO company, with no actual evidence.
A voluntary, self-reported internet census is not validation.
I'm not saying what you asserted is incorrect. I am, however, pointing out that assumptions without evidence are not proof.
