FFXIV needs an update

It's not being excused. It's just not a big deal. At. All. We dont need to see every pore on Y'shtola's forehead or every stitch in their clothes. That's a complete waste of time & resources.

I don't think people are asking for 4k ultra HD faces or anything, but stuff like the pixel exarch's appearance later on really shouldn't be a thing.

This. I never said or implied we need 4k but 1080p would be at least a minimum you'd think, even back in 2013 when the game was re-released.
Who said anything about having to be 4K-8K, that's just putting words in our mouths with something that wasn't even brought up.

as much as the graphics need an update (even if the more new glams and gear started to look much more good) the combat do not need one. the game is doing as well as it is on the combat system as well.

I believe It's more in the line they have a poor workflow and used low res to get ARR out fast and haven't been able to change it in 8 years. I don't think it's a matter of they want or not. They too deep in now that it would require a change in their workflow.

I mean it's one of the excuses they used why the new races barely got any hairstyles or can't use headgear.

but this excuses don't hold water. its just good old being lazy when ever they can. they all the time cut small things here and there and see how well people take it. like look Howe much dungeons there was in 2.x vs 5.x. how they cut out deep dungeons but did not add something on the same levle. there more things like it. but as people do take it well by all the time saying "well i neve like it any ways" they do it more. at times it look as if people be happy if there just be story and crafting
