So far, what have you enjoyed?

Just thought I'd give you an insight on what I've thoroughly enjoyed and to hear from you guys on what you've enjoyed!

I could care less about your problems or issues, just the things you enjoy, even if it's only one thing.

Well so far there is a plethora of things I've quite enjoyed!
    • The music! - It's so wonderful! I'm looking at you Halatali and Haukke Manor! ^^
    • The landscapes and cities are marvelous! Coming strictly from FFXI and not 1.0 I'm just purely amazed <3 I knew you had it in you SE!
    • Arcanist/Summoner The love of my life! <3 Wow... it's about time you got Summoner right guys! (even if I've just unlocked it, ACN is shaping up so nicely!)
    • Dungeons are really fun and nice! After the 1st three dungeons they start getting more thought reliant and I quite enjoy that ^.^
    • Some of the Voice Actors aren't half bad, I've only listened to the JP and EN ones, but a few from both sides I thoroughly enjoy. Again from no VAing at all in XI this is a huge step XD
    • Dyes! It's fun having colors that compliment your style, mood, or your class/job.
    • Summoner quest... LOVE IT! Did not disappoint! THANK YOU!
    • Cait Sith minion... least I finally get a Cait Sith to follow me around FINALLY! lulz (if you were a SMN on XI you know the pain I speak of.)

So, what are your thoughts? What have you enjoyed so far? Coming from XI or 1.XX?
I'm interested in hearing all of the positive thoughts you have for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! <3

    Eight years later-

I've enjoyed seeing the story of the world evolve.
I've enjoyed exploring the hidden corners of all the different zones.
I've enjoyed the music, especially Heavensward.
I've enjoyed leveling gathering and crafting.
I've enjoyed just being immersed in Eorzea doing nothing but staring up at the night sky.

I've enjoyed your posts over the years, Yamimarik; especially in "Show us your Hyur".

Story and music are pretty good.
Community has its ups and downs. Mainly downs.
Don't like the devs. I get that it's a business but don't lie to our faces. I'm still waiting for proper egi-glamours instead of the half-arsed recolors of carbuncle.

    So many things to list!

    - I've enjoyed the story: I returned to FFXIV a little over a month ago after 7 years of absence and decided to start fresh on a new server, meaning I got to experience the story in one continuous go, from stepping off the caravan as a fresh-faced adventurer to preparing myself for the end of days.
    - I've enjoyed the music: Especially in Shadowbringer! I'd run around aimlessly in zones just so I could soak in those soothing tunes and rocked out to that amazing boss music.
    - I've enjoyed the forums: This may not seem like anything to be excited about, but coming from WoW where the forums are a cesspool of the worst kind, it's refreshing to browse through the various topics daily with a smile on my face, looking at fun screenshots of people's characters and just players generally engaging in a pleasant way with one another.
    - I've enjoyed the dungeons: They're just... fun, y'know?
    - I've enjoyed playing dress-up: Always looking into new outfits to make for myself for every occasion under the sun.
    - I've enjoyed trying out various jobs, experiencing different types of gameplay: And there is yet so much more for me to discover!

I've enjoyed some elements of the story, though I wish we'd see more grit and consequence where the Scions and City State leaders are concerned. The antagonists are a lot more engaging and sympathetic to me than 'heroes' who get everything handed to them on a silver platter whilst never facing the same level of danger or loss as the antagonists.

The music is consistently a high note. There's a few tracks I'm not too keen on, but the vast majority are enjoyable to me.

Midlander, Raen and Xaela men are also enjoyable to me - they're definitely the best looking character options in the game where the men are concerned.

The forums have a few excellent posters who make coming here interesting and worthwhile.

All things Garlean and Ascian. Minus Zenos.

Fishing manages to be both enjoyable and infuriating at the same time, so I guess that counts.

Naturally the music, and story. I think the game looks very pretty too (which isn't to say I might not have technical advancement wishes on graphics, but just that the game is pretty).

In line with other classic FF traits, the above, is also the natural setting and also pull through - historical references to both self and actual history. Love of being inspired by those settings. OF course it's not a copy paste but it's a nod to history, still moving forward but not forgetting where you come from, which since SMN was brought up I'd argue that job did have a misstep when first made but has redeemed many classic qualities since (as soon as they added ahk morn it was like "oh well, that's good, I'm happier now"). Certainly the jobs themselves are all quite cool, Dragoon, Samurai, Paladin, etc, etc, the archetypes are enjoyable, though I do encourage new job concepts as well, I bet it's really fun for them to diverge and it's safest when it's new (vs "black mage is now a healer" lol, too much diverge).

I think the best system that has ever been made and should be in all mmos no matter what, job / class system that allows you to change on one character without hyper punishment. I don't need to have ability sharing, though it can be neat, but just the fact I can level everything on one character is SUPER SUPER nice. You might think of ways that are similar but not the same 'character' like very advance alt friendly system, I guess that might work, but I've yet to see anything comparable in ease of use that the FFXI / FFXIV job systems have had (to say I imagine a system could exist that is akin to easy changing while also not being the same 'character', I just haven't seen it yet). Will literally argue with someone on why it's the best lol.

The story of the team itself is fairly heart warming, I like the human they're able to bring even though we have a communication buffer (language). I'm not suggesting Yoshida should make a habit of crying, that'd be a weird thing to say (I'm not saying I want to see him cry, lol), but watching him have passion to that level is quite endearing. The rest of the team seems to carry similar passions, there are other faces we're pretty familiar with too, I don't want it to seem like only one person makes this game - it's just the nature of being the leader of something, you sort of become a.. primal.. of that aspect (avatar for the game).

    1) The music! The story!
    2) Love exploring the areas during day/night and during different weather
    3) Having all jobs on one class
    4) Gathering and crafting. (well, except fisher. fisher and all of its stupid inventory-hogging bait can die in a fire) Don't have to fight others for node availability.
    5) Can practice raids and bosses as often as I want.
    6) Unsynced mode = hilarity ensues
    7) hardcap on RNG for certain mounts. 99 runs = you get your mount. Period.
    8) Very interesting Lore
    9) Gold saucer: cards, chocobo racing, them finally making 4star cards less useless... (too bad that the Ai can still cheat though lol)
    10) chocobo companion, them adding apartments so we could color our birbs without needing housing savage
    11) not having constant huge class revamps after every patch. I don't want to have to relearn classes constantly. bullet dodged!
    12) That the devs actually listen. Examples: we asked for a summoning bell at gold saucer. they put one there, changed tower lighting when people reported it was making them feel sick, etc etc
    13) devs that actually play their own game and add quality of life changes. Examples: being able to search for which items are used for what recipe, items now stack to 999, ditching TP needed for sprinting and AOE spam, etc etc

Lotta good answers here, and if I were to list all the things I'm enjoying I'd be adding a lot of repetition, so lemme just add one thing no one has brought up yet: Hildebrand~

(Also the way that this game has helped me stay in touch with & close to special people I've suddenly been living very far from.)
