Amaro account wide?

Not to be a wet blanket but getting every job to 80 isn't something that's that big of a deal really. Maybe for completely brand new players but say someone like me, I only had to get 10 levels on every job during ShB and that hardly feels account-wide achievement worthy. Not that I'm against the idea but let's be honest, leveling in this game is one of the easiest things to do.

Eh, each of my alts has a mount they use that is deeply personal to them, since they're all RP alts to some degree. Grandma rides on a broomstick, my GEO in hiding rides the cloud mount, and my 1.0 character rides the old Goobbue since it's the rarest mount any of them own. The main character is the only one that has all 80s, so she's the one who has earned the amaro.

Cosmetic or not, it wouldn't feel right to have that on my level 1 scraggly characters.

They can all ride Fatter Cat instead.

I'll never stop banging the drum for alts and houses. The game knows I have a house on my account. The game can tell my alt and my main share a world. Why is my alt in this limbo of being a homeless home owner?

While I'm inclined to side with the 'no' on the Amaro -- and other achievement mounts -- I'm definitely on-board with this one. I would like to use my house on both my alts. We already have a massive housing problem, to a point that they've imposed a one-personal-house-per-service-account-per-world limit. If they've outright stated I cannot have a second house on my service account (which I do agree with), there's no rational reason they should not therefore let my alt have access to the house I have managed to get.

There's a difference between "I need to do this thing on all characters in order to have the perk on all of them", and "the game itself imposes a limit that you can only do this on one character"; the former, I can put in the time and get something on all characters, so it makes sense to make it achievable on all characters. (Savage raid mounts, Extreme trial mounts, the amaro, etc.) The latter, no matter what I do, my alt cannot get a house since my main has one. Why can't my alt use my main's house? I can make my friends into tenants so they can use the garden and whatnot... why isn't my alt automatically treated like a tenant?

I like the idea of account wide stuff, well for Mog Shop I think that should be standard no matter, but for in game stuff this concept I feel has potentially some whiplash consquences... Since quite a few players have probably enjoyed that each character is tracked seperately, and then suddenly that is gone would be a feature loss.

If we were starting FFXIV from ground zero before players invested I think I'd certainly say make this stuff account wide, but now that the opposite is accepted I think this might amount to losing something if you start to go wild on account wide achievements, mounts, etc. (Though I also think allowing houses would be a good idea, given the systems limitations the easier to share that the better).

Well, I personally think it would make sense for all the achievements to be account-wide, especially because all the characters play the same.
But I am guessing some people would not like it...

Amaro? No. I'd say the same thing for every single achievement item as well.

House? Sure. Should honestly be shared with your characters on the same world server.

I love my alts. I know I don't need them, but they are fun, and I like telling their stories.

I have two more jobs to get from 70 to 80 on my main so that I can finally have my Amaro. There is absolutely no way any of my alts deserve an Amaro mount. An achievement is an achievement, keep it that way. I'm still perplexed why all my alts get a Legacy chocobo, they didn't ride to Carteneau! Thankfully only Elai gets the tattoo.

Rewards for achievements should never be account wide.
