Increasing number of players using 3rd party tools

Last few seasons of Feast introduced many physical ranged players that are using some kind of 3rd party programs that automatically interrupt opposing sides melee/ranged limit breaks within milliseconds. Players cant even see their LB animations/cast bars start and they are already interrupted by those players

This is more of the line of fearmonger to me. ACT, UI mods, Reshade etc has been a thing for nearly a decade.

WoW got tons of add-ons. FFXIV only have... a hand full?
I wouldnt make a big deal about people who using ACT for themselves. Live and let live.

This. The fact SE don't even offer us a proper parser to guage our own performance is why many use ACT. Not to exploit or get a upper edge over others.

That's a botting application. This thread seem to me just be about client side changes (UI mods) and ACT.

ACT won't hurt anyone
WoW is bad today because they build a whole content based on hardcore players. They forced casual players to play as a hardcore and as a consequence the game is more competitive.
WoW is almost a MMO version of a MOBA.

FFXIV still a chill and lovely game. I do use ACT sometimes when i want to figure out how damage really works and ALSO i use XIVLauncher with some plugins. PLUS i use mods for BLM, DRK and NIN skills AND Gshade Angelite. No regrets

I don't use UI mods personally, the base UI is completely fine for me. But i can't fathom why you'd care about how other player's UI looks. How does that affect you, just don't use them, live and let live. If some people enjoy customizing their UI, good for them.

Why people in this community feel the need to control how others should be allowed to enjoy the game, in a context where it doesn't impact anyone else, will always be beyond me.

fflogs is a thing..you can even find Yoshi P data there
They use to get better and create better combos to overcome DPS check in savages/ultimate.

Honestly OP is right, market botting is out of control, hunt radar, the above mentioned pvp one, and that's not even getting into the mess that is ACT with all its functions.

some of these 3rd party tools are things that should be in the game already though. I'm talking that one that autofilters all the major gil sellers from chat/pf, the one that lets you see the actual centre of your hitbox, one that displays magic damage vs physical and that tool that shows you the actual hp number of enemies to name a few.

Would be nice if SE made a crackdown on the bots and act. Removing the market controllers, pvp win trading and some of the crutches all the raiders are using would make the game healthier in the long run

They will never fully ban ACT. Nor is it a crutch, it's a tool. I can guarantee top raiders using ACT would run rings around the average forum complainer and out-perform them in every way in almost any content even without it. The crutch argument is old.

Bots is a good point though and where the focus should really be. They need to crack down on those.
