Just don't join them-- the bans are eventually coming.Hello, i was just wondering, i see a lot of streamers using custom 3d party tool UI interface, ACT, plugins that let you tag and find mobs around the map..
As far as i know this shouldnt be allowed.
Just dont want this game to turn into a bloated plugin addon game like WoW.
"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"

You missed something here. When you said you dont want the game to turn into WoW, it is not WoW. Using 3rd party tools are against the rule and XIV has no official way of making those tools work other than programmers with a lot of time on their hands injecting something into the game illegaly. Yes it is illegal but there are so many ways and believe me there will always be a way to modify game clients.
WoW on the other hand is completely different, they added LUA in the game that lets devs to build addons on top of their game. Yes. They provided it, encouraged it. So you can never compare the two when it comes into addons/mods although there will always be addons and mods.
The other thing that people ignore is that WoW is PC/Mac only. Every player has equal ability to download and use the third party tools if they choose. You missed something here. FFXIV also supports PS4/PS5 in addition to PC. Those players do not have the ability to use the third party tools and that creates an unfair environment when PC users can. Perhaps it would have been better for SE to segregate the different platforms into different servers and prevent players from using both platforms on the same server, though certainly I would have missed out on making a lot of friends with those using the other platform.

Eh I don't mind. If people use act call-outs and then cry on the forums of easy raids it's their issue, not mine or yours.
There's been a few satics in the past where the use of certain mods where mandatory but those are actually few compared to how many statics there are. while on wow 99% of the groups recruiting required you to have BwM.
But there the game was also made with add-ons in mind and bosses where less scripted then here so it wasn't so much of an issue there.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Meh. Whatever it is they choose to do, it ultimately doesn't affect me. This kind of stuff is why I tend to have little interest in high end MMO content. The people engaging in it tend to care about winning more than they care about the experience...

SE should scan some of these mods, learn from it and add their own. Add features themselves.
QOL changes, to many aspects is exactly what this game should of had from the beginning.
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
Some of the mods do things the game should have been capable of 8 years ago. Who cares people are modding the game. You can make up all this bs that WoW failed cause of modding, it creates a toxic environment, but none of that is true.
WoW failed for the same reason this game will fail, lack of passion in the over all product over time.
WoW community become toxic for the same reason this community is toxic. Different extreme ideals. WoW has a very hard core raiding scene which made other players doing raids have a more hard core mentality adding artificial requirements to entry and gate keeping the content. This game has a casual group that tries to gate keep what kind of content is healthy for the game and shuts down any feedback that doesn't align with this casual ideal. Two opposite spectrums, both cause problems are it hurts others experience. The spectrums inevitably get to extreme to where there are no longer over lapping points of view.
I wonder how they create an unfair advantage of what? Nobody is in a direct competition with you except yourself. Nobody of you is even remotely close to be in the 0,0001% of players that go for World first. None of these grant any real cheats like gold or free items, nobody cares how many mounts you have or achievements or how far you are in raiding, the only people that would even remotely care are people that use mods to log their dps and toxic people.
There were plenty of cheats in ranked Feast matches for the last 3-4 seasons. People running at ridiculous speeds, people that cannot be stunned, people floating mid air, people teleporting out of the starting ring before match warmup ends hitting the other team from the outside without any danger, people having programs automatically interrupt enemy Limit Breaks at 0,0001% of their cast bar every time etc. These didn't use to happen but I noticed a clear trend of more and more people with these kind of things last few seasonsI wonder how they create an unfair advantage of what? That might be but this isn't something that wouldn't be there even if mods weren't allowed (as in actively being hunted, see WoW), in fact this could easily be adjusted by a single GM just watching but truth is PvP in FF is so minor and unimportant - particularly because it's the satan spawn of toxicity like nothing else not even loggers - that they just don't care. If you were to remove ladder right now I bet most people wouldn't even notice, I argue at best people would notice the complete remove of PvP because of roulette rewards and missing glamour. There were plenty of cheats in ranked Feast matches for the last 3-4 seasons.
