This game was made in such a way that add-ons aren't required, and it's kinda disgusting how many new players are thinking that they are the norm when they really aren't.

There are a ton of Add-ons that make the QoL in the game so much better. People don't install add-ons because they are the norm, they install add-ons to have a better gaming experience.

Disgusting? What's the need for such word? If people come from a game where add-ons are very common, it's not surprising that they would look for stuff like that in ffxiv as well. Tbh I don't care. I don't feel the need of many addons but most of the time it doesn't change anything for me if people are using then so whatever.

But FF14 hasn't an addon API. There are no real addons possible like in WoW. I see no danger here. But i wished that the UI would be more configurable.Disgusting? What's the need for such word? well op you can pretty much go to any streamer and see act SE should just ban the whole lot of them when they make their tos violation so blatantly obvious that's like filming your self robbing a bank then posting it online and wondering how you got caught
it's not even a violation of your rights as your using their game they are fully within their rights to ban you for media you made public showing you in bold violation of the terms of service

The SCH in TPS placed markers down during downtime/Alex burn when he literally had nothing else to do. All Paisley did was safe him tedium of doing that every single pull; of which they were doing several hundred. They didn't auto position during mechanics.

They actually did auto-position based on the mechanic, iirc. It wasn't just saving him the tedium of placing them, Paisley had a serious threat to future raid design.
Take a look at Timestop, Wormhole & the beginning of the transition to perfect in their clear video. You'll see all 5-6 markers adjust within <1s very blatantly, something no human could do. The only time Kio ever put down waymarkers manually was for the trines and that was it. Even then, it was only a single waymark to indicate the end point; which is why Square destroyed waymarking mid combat. TPS created a dangerous precedent in future raid design where Paisley could immensely lessen the difficulty of encounters by having dynamic waymarkers that could change in an instant, even in the middle of a mechanic.
Could you imagine something like Basic, Intermediate or Advanced relativity, only you get assigned a waymark at the beginning of the fight and then you just go to all the places it pops up during the mechanic to auto win without even having to think about positioning? Paisley's use in TPS was just the surface of what it could do, hence why Square saw the need to break it before it spiraled out of control.

No, they didn't because Paisey literally can't. It was a program that only saved an infinite set of preset marker placements you needed to alt tab to press. The markers didn't place themselves based on a mechanic happening. Which is what I was replying to. Kio did originally do the marker placement for their prog but switched to Paisey to save himself having to redo it every pull. The whole markers switching based on specific mechanics happened later with Trig. And it was mostly used for Trine placements and Dragon Dives in UCoB.
The markers move instantly, yes. But not based on a mechanic automating that movement. Kio has to alt-tab or has keybound a preset. Obviously, doing this manually takes longer but the point being made is it doesn't change anything for TPS because when Kio did marker placement himself, he just set them up during the Alex burn phase in-between smacking Alexander. In other words, it changed absolutely nothing for them. He's said as much himself. Rin Karigani used to do the same in UCoB; weave markers in-between his rotation as the off-tank.
No... because that isn't how the program worked. It can't just keep changing marker placements per debuff timer for Advanced Relativity. It's just a preset system. Now if someone saved a whole set of markers and kept alt-tabbing to move them between each debuff going out, then sure, it's feasible. But that's more likely to cause confusion that make it easier.Could you imagine something like Basic, Intermediate or Advanced relativity, only you get assigned a waymark at the beginning of the fight and then you just go to all the places it pops up during the mechanic to auto win without even having to think about positioning?
