Increasing number of players using 3rd party tools

Hello, i was just wondering, i see a lot of streamers using custom 3d party tool UI interface, ACT, plugins that let you tag and find mobs around the map..
As far as i know this shouldnt be allowed.

Just dont want this game to turn into a bloated plugin addon game like WoW.

Then do it. Nobody forces you to use such tools.

    Cheers

Rest assured that the devs create the game in such a way that third party tools are not needed. They've even made a statement on this.

Besides, if they did start expecting everyone to start using third party tools, it would alienate all the console users out there.

I'd say it's a legitimate cause for concern.

SE doesn't support add ons and they're not actually legal to use, but that won't stop the community at large from requiring them if they become a common crutch for high tier content.

They've been in use since coil.

    Nothing has changed.

The only ones people got real up in arms were the radars for hunts. That really pissed people off, and rightfully so.

Those still exist and are arguably more disruptive now because they're part of the basic functionality for some of the most popular botting programs, which means that if a S rank spawns in the same zone as a bot, anyone who has access to the associated discord its relays are being sent to will immediately know about it.

They've never really been a big part of this games culture.

Add ons are a MASSIVE part of WoWs culture, though, and the WoW community is transitioning to FFXIV in not small numbers. Since there's nothing really stopping the use of add ons in this game, besides some mild inconvenience and an official/unofficial stance against them, I could see a culture shift happening.

There's actually a bot free way for a team to predict where an S rank will spawn. It involves killing the B rank in every possible spawn point you can find (and ignored the A ranks if they're up since they also share a spawn point.) If there's a place the B rank doesn't respawn, that's the spot reserved for the S rank when the conditions for the spawn are met.

Thing is, it's a LOT of leg work, so there's a reason usually a whole Discord channel is involved in the process.

I used to do that for "landmine" S ranks like Nandi and Gamma, but spawning them eats up enough of my time and sanity as it is.

Except now an awful lot of them have people swarming to them from across the data center before I can even locate it or let the locals know about it, which gets rather aggravating.
