QoL change to sell multiple units of an item at a set quantity

    Heya,

No idea if this has been suggested before (I'd assume so).

It would be nice if we could sell multiple units of an item with a set quantity. The marketboards would be cleaner and sell a lot more items without having to put up more items constantly.

It'd also be really cool for the retainer at my house and fc to be more like an npc for rp like i have a market in the outdoor area and shopping centre inside with the mannequins (vending machine or some such for food and potions would be ultra awesome).

I think this QoL change would also make it a lot more simple to update multiple same items quickly. That being said, I don't know how this will affect the markets and how botters will take advantage of something like this. The companion app will also be affected and the marketboard UI will need to be updated.

Oh and I don't know if there is an option to turn the notification that appears on your screen when you sell something to be turned off, I'd like that, I only really need to see it in the chatbox.

If you're reading this, what do you think? ^_^

    I mean, can't you?

I can put up 4 sets of 99, or 8 sets of 50, and I can pick the quantity when I drop the item into the retainer.
You just fill up your 20 slots faster.

OP, do you mean you'd like the game to have an auto-generate option where you specify the quantity you want to sell then it auto posts at that quantity taken from a larger stack? Say I have 999 of something and want to sell 10 stacks of 99 each. Rather than having to post ten individual sales, are you wanting to specify stack size and post quantity in one interface so that you post all ten stacks with a single click?

I can see that being a nice feature for legit players wanting to dump a lot of excess stuff after gathering/crafting binges and don't think it would be an issue for bots at all since they post so quickly already.

There should be a option to BUY specific amounts. Cuts out all the listing issues.
Doesn't matter if you put up 20, 50, or 900 items... people can take from that stack as much or little as they need.
The only thing a seller should do it check a "allow shaving" box, meaning buyers can shave off the stack custom amounts.

Well if this game didn't have so much to improve on, I wouldn't have to suggest this much, would I...?

But that would lower the overal price of an item. I could put up 10 single stacks for 1000 gil and get more money then the guy that put up 99 for 100.

    Many times.

The general consensus has always been that people would rather have a much clunkier, user-unfriendly, outdated market board because they feel they can either squeeze a few extra gil out of selling singles, or force someone to buy their entire stack of useless item that no one needs more than a few of. In other words, greed over QoL.

    It's a shame, but it's a majority preference.
