I don't know why, but I guess I'm one of the few ( If others exist ) ex WoW players who didn't skip any early quests, didn't complain about the texts, and read all the tutorial tips and pop-ups at a slow pace. It feels weird...
Same here. I am an ex WoW player and I read every quest text without any exception. But in the video there is a lot of truth especially the movement tutorial thing and the invisible walls.
Cheers
Plenty of former WoW players are reading through everything and enjoying the slow pace. Not every WoW player was a GO-GO-GO speed runner as much as the vocal edgelord community would like others to believe.
Most of the development team was not involved in that or the other incidents that have been revealed.
So yes, I do feel bad for the low- and mid-level developers who were just trying to pursue their passion for creating games. They weren't in the position of being able to stop that behavior by others and many times were the victims of it.
I don't feel bad for the upper management and executives who allowed that sort of thing to persist.

The video was literally me the first time I did the free trial, because I still had the 'WoW mentality', it was only years later that I tried again, but this time looked at the game with a different perspective - that XIV isn't "WoW 2" and I shouldn't expect it to be. I've been having a blast ever since.
