Need help on what to play

Hi, I’m relatively new to the game. Although I’ve played very very casually for a few tears off and on, it wasn’t until recently I started playing more and more. I love the game, but I have no clue what to play. I come from WoW where I either usually play a melee like assassination rogue or a plate dps or a caster like mage or warlock. However in WoW we have add ons like DBM where it helps with when a mechanic is happening, so I’m able to avoid things more easily. Half the time though, in trials, especially extremes, although I know most of the things are telegraphed, there are times where I really don’t understand what is going on and I end up tunneling, a habit I hope I can overcome the more I play. However, what’s a cool class/job that feels fun to play, but isn’t too overly complicated or overly easy, where I can keep focused on what’s going on instead of what I’m pressing. I have a learning disability and am a mix between clicker/keybind presser if that makes any difference. I’m also a huge fan of anime like dragon ball, Sword Art Online, The Kings Avatar, etc.

I haven't played WoW so those references don't really mean anything to me, however, both Red Mage and Dancer are fairly straight forward jobs that are fun but still mobile. Unfortunately, you can't pick Red Mage up until you get one job to level 50 or a job to level 60 for Dancer. I'm a bit more prone to tunneling on Dancer than Red Mage, but Dancer's dash ability, en avant, is excellent for moments when suddenly realize you need to be on the other side of the arena right now so it actually works out better for me. Pre 50 probably a job like Arcanist/Summoner or Archer/Bard will help with mobility, although Summoner and Bard become very busy with lots of weaving at level 80 so it depends on your taste.

The least distracting classes would be Red Mage (ranged magic DPS), Machinist (ranged DPS) and Dark Knight (tank). You can't start as any of these jobs until level 50 or reaching Heavensward.

Their rotations are very simple and have no positionals or DOTs. Most of the time they are pressing 1-4 GCD but Machinist and Dark Knight have a lot of abilities to press between the GCD.

You could try healers, where most of the time you press 1 button to deal damage and only heal occasionally when it's needed. There is a DOT to track and at least one other attack you can do sometimes, but they can be the easiest role for some things and not for others.

If you want a nice difficulty curve and be part of one of the most unappreciated jobs, play Monk.
