Aether is officially locked

As of the Patch 5.58 Hotfix maintenance, all Worlds on the Aether Data Center have been classified as Congested. Despite expanding the maximum capacity as much as possible and closely monitoring the situation, the number of logins for each World have constantly remained at full capacity, which led to us taking this course of action.

This means players will be unable to create new characters on any World on the Aether Data Center until this classification is lifted. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will cause for those of you who were looking forward to embarking on adventures with friends.

Were the number of characters to increase any further, it could result in login queues taking up to several hours, which is why we needed to take this approach. In the meantime, we kindly request that you consider creating a character on a World within the Primal or Crystal Data Centers, though we’re aware that they are currently quite congested as well.

Feel like this will only be a temporary fix, people are still joining the game in droves and before long you'll hear that the other two DCs are crowded.

Well if this is happening now, I'm not expecting Aether to be unlocked until after the new year. I completely understand the team is trying their best in extreme circumstances that couldn't have been predicted but I'm starting to get apprehensive for Endwalker's launch. If both Primal and Crystal become congested things are going to be a mess. I hope they will at least be able to somehow add new servers to the NA/EU Datacenters with Endwalker. Hasn't the opening of the Oceania datacenter pushed back until at least 6.1 because of Covid travel restrictions?

What's funny is, on Excalibur, I have personally never really had a problem getting in, no real longer waits than the usual. I guess that may change soon.

Why ERP on Crystal when you can do it with Asmon's ERP streams on Aether, oh wait.

Of course if you wanted high-end content done, you were not going to Crystal. Probably still not going to until Primal closes down.

Primal is good, but you know it won't be long until the gates shut considering the situation.

Also don't abuse the AFK timeout and be a Limsa Thot. Be a good Eorzea citizen and let people not wait an eternity to get on Aether.

I welcome new worlds in NA or even a brand new DC but it looks like they can't buy new equipment even if they want to
