From what it sounds like, you're just experiencing the unfortunate other end of slidecasting. The problem you're experiencing is caused by the same thing that causes slidecasting; the way the game interprets actions.

Put simply, because of the game's built-in 200ms lag (there are proper terms I cannot think of ATM I apologize but the words I'm using should evoke the same sentiments), you are still moving according to the server, even though on the client you've stopped.
