I didn't think of the word when I wrote my initial response... long day at workIncorrect. "Dead" implies a lack of activity, both in terms of content and overall players in the game. We are in a content lull, but the game is not dead by any means. I have never seen so much activity going on before at the tail end of an expansion. Regardless, I've accomplished just about everything I had planned to (along with some nice surprises) for now so I'm not playing quite as much. Currently, my main focus is Warframe. But I'm still logging in every couple of days and I am always met with a server queue and full cities no matter what time of day it is.
but I guess you could call it a content draught but still not really.

at the rate it takes to get 99 Emerald weapon tokens, I do need these 3 months...
Larek Darkholme @ Ragnarok
My to-do list before EW release includes:
Getting all extreme trial mounts.
Obtaining a few rare items from treasure maps, Eureka, etc.
Replaying the entirety of the msq since I forgot a surprising amount of lore.
At this point I'm worried that I won't get everything done until then![]()

I've had all my jobs to lvl 80 for a while now and I still find things to do.
I wrote this three months ago.
You have 27 Weeks until Endwalker releases
Thread is filled with things you can do.
The best time to start something is yesterday. The next best time to start something is TODAY.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

I dunno man.
I feel the silent members are probably not in the forums because they're in game haha.
I guess we shouldn't be projecting our opinions on them in lieu of them not speaking for themselves.
Yo, I feel ya. Part of me wishes FF14 had a longer development cycle, but I know they'd probably just add more grind for the people not in the same boat as us....
Also, to prevent this thread from turning into people posting their pre-EndWalker to-do lists, please direct such posts here:

I consider this the "calm before the storm".
That means I'm crafting stuff, stocking up on stuff, continuing to PVP and would like to dive into POTD and HOH again.
Idk about you, but I'm bored to tears after doing roulettes.
I farmed my ARR ponies. I'm good on mounts.
I don't collect minions.
I dislike gold saucer.
And I have no desire to level other jobs.
Oh well.
I’ve finished everything I want to do.
All tomestones at capped.
Got Landerwuff or whatever its called.
Geared up all job to at least ilv 520.
Got minions and glams from various contents.
Done with NG+ shadowbringers.
Right now I’m thinking about unlocking ultimate fight.
Well, I have time to kill so why not ?
There's always been a few months of "nothing" before the expansions, it's pretty standard in every MMO.
But then when it does come, using what is know and the past 3 examples for FF XIV as reference, Endwalker comes out with 2 new classes, a couple of dozen of hours of story, 7-8 dungeons, 3-4 trials (complete with Extreme versions) and a set of 4 raids... And Savages sometime later in I do believe 6.05.
