This is a time frame of a normal patch so will there be a patch amount of content? If not what people think of this. I got raids and so grind to do ,so I can't complain to much.
One more thing I want to see is why people jump from a "dead" period in wow to ff14 in its longest "dead" period.

I'd say we are far from a "Dead period". I suddenly saw all the old content I did not bothered with and found myself having fun with it.
BLU, did not cared and did not had time. Filled the BLU spell and I'll try to find a group for savage.
I've been able to join a group progging TEA and gets additionnals totem while also slightly improving my performances in this content.
I've had time to collect Triple Triad cards.
I found myself enjoying Chocobo races.

I still have a few things on my Todo list:
I'll be trying to get that perfect Chocobo, I'm on the last step.
BLU content and Morbol.
I'll try to solo POTD.
I'll build a few more relics.
Hope there will be an event to increase interest in pvp, I still have the 100 wins mounts to get.

Maybe if I have the time, I'll do a few more TEA reclears or crafters relics.

No, there won't be anymore patches, but we may get hotfixes. There will be a return of FF XV car available at the gold saucer in September.
Other than that, look forward to the upcoming Media tour in September that will show job changes. And one month before EW release we should have another liveletter.

As for WoW...
I think you followed what happened lately?
9.1 was disappointing and too late, the dev team is still disconnected from its playerbase. WoW players are fed up, some Streamers tried XIV and surprise, it's actually fun and not weeby/furry/pedoland.

WoW players might be able to give you more, but to put it simply they are fed up.

Incorrect. "Dead" implies a lack of activity, both in terms of content and overall players in the game. We are in a content lull, but the game is not dead by any means. I have never seen so much activity going on before at the tail end of an expansion. Regardless, I've accomplished just about everything I had planned to (along with some nice surprises) for now so I'm not playing quite as much. Currently, my main focus is Warframe. But I'm still logging in every couple of days and I am always met with a server queue and full cities no matter what time of day it is.

Are you new the game OP? There has always been a "lul period" right before an expansion but it's hardly dead
CKNovel already explained but even for a senior player there is still a bunch of stuff to occupy yourself until mid november.

If you're a raid logger then of course game been "dead" for some time now.
I know I have a ton of stuff on my to-do list until november and I'll probably not able to cross off all until then.

By that logic, isn't the game dead after 1-2 weeks after every patch since then we have to wait roughly 3 months on next content patch?

Look I get it, it sucks not having new patches in 7 months but if covid didn't happen and there wasn't a delay we'd have the expansion around this time. 3 Months extra doesn't really make or break it. Rather them spend the time polishing the expansion than rush it out to quench people like, you OP and whoever else think the game is "dead"

Although I'd be lying if I said I didn't think the last seasonal events been lackluster both in event objectives and rewards. (I'm looking at you Polarbear and umbrella)

Yes but is it not the longest one so far? Doing older things is nice ,I do them as well but you know . Nothing fells new as new things when you don't need to look for people all over the net to do it.

Patch 4.55 launched in Feb 2019 with Shadowbringers launching in July 2019 so this is just a few weeks longer than the last time with 5.55 being in May and Endwalker launching in November.

During this time, I use to bounce around mmorpgs taking a break, but for some reason i got the I need to make gill itch, so been focus on that.


Also tons of old content that I never really felt like doing, im picking up. Now if I did not have all this older content I might be more bored...well not really. Making gill is kinda addicting.

In some ways, this is my favorite time in the game's cycle. Things are a bit quieter so there's plenty of opportunity to do the slow/chill/solo content available that often gets ignored during the more active times. I understand if you prefer more group-oriented stuff, but give the other content a try, you may find you like it more than you thought or did in old versions with different systems.
