Idea on the dreams/nightmares we are having

I got the cutscene dream today....

They're nightmares, that and only that. It's pretty much meant to be a neat little "feature" to encourage logging out via your bed. For example I got the cutscene on my alt and I haven't even beaten the normal Ifrit battle with that character yet let alone unlocked Garuda OR the Moogles. I haven't even beaten the main scenario storyline. IDK why I had a dream of the White Raven when I've never met him using that character, but I think everyone's just reading into this a bit too much.

The nightmare is meant to be a view that our character has anxieties about failing. In the nightmare it seemingly became a reality. The Circle of Knowledge (If you notice they're -all- there in the dream, the NPCs you meet from the main storyline.) and the leaders of the Grand Companies all failed and you were the only one left alive. All hope was lost and as you fall into despair the White Raven shows up from behind to finish you off as well.

Thats entirely the point, why would it matter to you that much that the questline npcs all got killed, however all us adventurers posses the power of the echo (even if you haven't done the quest you unlock it in) if the twelve were trying to contact us, to show what could happen if we fail it could go to everyone who posesses the power of the echo.

Ok we all know that the echo allows us to look into someones memories, but what if the twelve themselves could contact us through the echo. This contact could be via these dreams and nightmares we are having.

For example the one where Van Darnus kills everyone, and you wake before he kills you, perhaps that is a raid that will go on against the imperial stronghold in Mor Dhona, and the twelve are showing us what will happen without intervention.

It could seem like the twelve are trying to help us, but they can only contact the few who have awakened the power of the echo, also in one cutscene I remember Van Darnus telling us that the twelve are not helping us, but what if it just looks that way because he cannot use the echo.

Personally, I think it's due to what Van Darnus said after the easy Garuda fight, about how he mocks your struggles as futile, and looks forward to taking your head when you finally despair. In the nightmare, everyone you've met is dead, and your character looks like they're having a heroic BSOD, sure enough, Van Darnus shows up and "kills" you. It's not unusual to have nightmares as a result of external stimulus, and it says a little about your character's personality, like they are dreading facing Van Darnus since we haven't really seen him fight yet, and if Gaius Van Baelsar takes orders from him, we can guess he's a badass.

Either way, I think it's just a nightmare. There's really nothing that suggests that it must be deeper than that. People have nightmares all the time, doesn't mean they're some kind of prophetic message. I wouldn't read too much into it without good reason. Right now there's really nothing to suggest that it's more than a dream.

You get the dream sequence without having done any GC quests. I started a new character a few days ago, she is only rank 18 and I got the dream scene yesterday on her.
