In VI moogles were minding their own business but also didn't hesitate to help a complete stranger. In IX they're very hard workers despite the obsession with kupo nuts. In XII even more so.
I don't remember what they were like before VI. But Thal's balls the XIV Moogles ride on the "Haha they're cute but they exploit you" trope way too much. Which is something that XIV does with most of its 'cute' little characters too... Namazu, Lalafel...

You forgot about the part in FFXI where some of them went rogue and committed a Moogle Kupo d'Etat...

So they don't always play nice lol.
