Let's Talk: EN players in JP data centre

To be honest what OP describes in his/her video is basically also the EU datacenter.

There is no shout/yell chat in hubs, not even for fc recruitment. Hunttrains wait for players to arrive, even in Eureka etc. players waited up to 10min for people to get to the notorious monsters back in the days. Players on EU also greet always others in dungeons. And heck in all the Dalriada runs i had in Bozja players on EU always waited for people to finish their cutscene and i had like 100+ runs...i am insane i know...

All these things happen on the datacenter I play on too. And I play on NA servers, and reading the comments here it happens on other data centers too. So why does this have to be about JP exclusivly?

To be fair there are differences. When i played for a year on NA it was a little culture shock for me. Like in Eureka players pulled Notorious Monsters on sight, not waiting a single second for all the players on the way. That's something you would be flamed for on EU. Also look at the NA hub chat. It's full of shout chat trolls mostly. EU is really really quiet same as JP.

For Eureka, we'd get a few calls to wait back when it was current content, and we would for the most part. But we'd also let people know "Hey, we're going to try spawning this" and often got a large train to go with us to do so. I'm not sure how it is these days, but back when it was current content, we'd try not to pull things like what you mentioned. Though about the shout chat, people in NA tend to try to say things to deal with the quiet and boredom usually in the maps. You'll get trolls in some maps, people reminiscing in others, and just idle chit chat in general.

idk what dc you were on, but I was in Eureka for hours, every day and nearly always had time to get to a NM before it was pulled. I could count the times I couldn't make it on one hand, even if I had to run all the way. Pulling early was considered a jerk thing to do here too.

I cant say about Eureka as I havent done that content. But as for shout chat the server Im on I can sit in Limsa for hours and barely see any shouts aside from advertisements and an occasion peechat yell. Emotes tho I see lots of emotes if I were to scroll through the chat.

On Tonberry and it's very quiet overall, albeit for a while Tonberry was kinda the unofficial Oceania server, so there's a fair mix of languages despite it being in the J-data center.

As for me, I rarely get RMT tells. Like it's been probably a year. And I seldom see /yell or /shout spam outside of events going on. It's mostly quiet outside of the obvious hub areas, and even then it's mostly /says.

The big thing is Tonn is almost always locked for new characters, so I guess any RMT sellers are quickly reported/booted and it takes a while for them to actually get a new character back in.

As someone who started on Tonberry, just be courteous and flexible and you're fine.

Only things that sound different are the shout chat thing, which is hard to imagine. The alliance B thing, which has been common knowledge for years. The {Doma Castle} play on words thing. And the thank yous to the teleporters/hunt leaders.

3 wipes to disband is something I've seen in PFs a lot here, too. I think most NA players look down on it though, as a sign of impatience. I know I do, as I've had tons of farm parties that wiped three times, but then went on to clear on later pulls, and after the first clear, whether it was supposed to be a farm or not, went on to farm consistently for several hours.
